"Sandman, Do I get my own dressing room?"
Well, here you go Clark;
There was an abandoned, old trailer that was up on a hill above the house we stayed in. We actually shot a few scenes right up by there and one day, one of the guys ( I can't seem to remember who), wrote Clark's name and drew a star on some camera tape, and thought it'd be funny if we gave him his own trailer. Clark thought it was a hoot. He grabbed his sunglasses and posed for a few funny photo ops;
Clark is just one of those human beings, who regardless of the circumstance or situation, makes everyone around him feel good and treats everyone with great respect and admiration. He truly is one of the best and most dear friends I have on this Earth. I would do anything for him and his family and he's already proved he'd do anything for me. "Hunter Prey" was our third project together, and I can't picture him not being involved in some capacity in any other project I ever get to do. He truly brought the character of Orin Jericho to life, even though he wasn't originally supposed to play that role... Oops, did I just say that?!You'll have to get the DVD and watch "Creating Hunter Prey", the behind the scenes documentary included in the special features, to find out more.

Ok, next installment; I ran across these in a file from the pre-production of the film. This is the first make-up test for the bounty hunter character... After I decided that I was going to play this character, make-up FX supervisor, Patrick Magee took my lifecast and generated the prosthetic appliances, painted them and did this test about 2 months prior to shooting. It gave me a chance to not only see what the creature would look like, but how the prosthetics would feel on my face and what range of motion and expression I would have in the make-up.
First, the full scleral contact lenses were put in my eyes. These are twice the size of a normal contact lens. They cover the entire eye. Mind you, I'd never worn contacts before, so this basically felt like someone trying to stick half of a ping pong ball in your eye;
Then the headpiece was put on and glued down. The teeth (which were sculpted over a cast of my own choppers) were also put in, as once the appliances are glued down, it's much harder to get the contacts and dentures in;
Patrick and makeup assistant, Saul Gallegos then glue down the facial appliance and blend everything together;
Two hours later, the finished product;
I felt the paint scheme was a bit too blue and too similar to the Cydonian alien coloring, so the character in the final film is more of a green color. It was a lot of fun being in the makeup and playing the character, but directing in that get up, was really challenging. In the 100+ degree heat, doing the fight scene was brutal. I could only imagine how the guys felt who had to wear all that stuff every day... Crazy.

And I had already planned on buying the official DVD, but now I'm really curious"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

Sandy, I didn't know you made Batman: Dead End. That is an amazing piece of film work. Just checked out the Amazon listing for Hunter Prey, it looks great. I'll be picking up a copy.Meerkat MegoComment

Hell, I'll probably get both versions anyway. To support an independent moviemaker and a fellow member and because I prefer the foreign DVD cover"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

I had to post this one. This is the only picture I have of our base camp for the dunes location. I absolutely love this photograph. It perfectly captures the isolation and scope of the whole shoot. We really were in the middle of nowhere...
