I was looking forward to hearing it, but when the song started I just kind of sat there, disappointed. I really thought I'd like them, wanted to like them, but I just couldn't get into it. Nate, however, loved them and we kind of pick on each other about it because it's one of the few bands we really disagree on.
Well I'm shocked Del. But that's the nature of music(like Art)...People's taste vary. I'm with your Husband though...I absolutely LOVE Joy Division!

When I like something that doesn't impress Nate, I always liken it to his love of Joy Division. It's become a new unit of measurement for us.

Leonard Cohen. Great songwriter. "Everbody Knows" is a personal fave.

I just got an iPhone and put a wide variety of music into it. I had a pretty good workout tonight, starting out with Sonny Boy Williamson and cooling down with Paul McCartney's "Run Devil Run."

I've been getting home from work early now that the weather is nice, so just about every afternoon I sit here and listen to Steven Jesse Bernstein, then some Nirvana, then Melvins.
                      Lather, rinse, repeat...

Lately...? Finally downloaded/listened to the Stones "Goat Head Soup".. Yeah, pretty dismal for the that period, coming down off of "Exile on Main Street" and their '72 US Tour. Much like the following album 'Its Only Rock and Roll', it suffers from bad song progression and no cohesive theme. I still love the song 'Heartbreaker' for Mick Taylor's elegant guitar solo.

Other than that, I'm spending 20+hrs a week on 'Jesu, Joy of Mans Desiring' by Bach. I'm fingerpicking that with a pianist accompanying me with piano chords and taking the minor alternate melody (thankfully..). We're performing it at my church on New Years Weekend, so I'm just trying to learn the ENTIRE piece, just to say I can do it all. I played it for pre-wedding ceremony music last year, but just repeated the main melody of it.

I play jazz and slide blues, but this is really the only true classical piece of work thus far. Following this, I plan to focus my attention on 'Canon in D Major' by Johann Pachelbel.

I've started slipping back into the Counting Crows again. I obsessed on them for a long time then fell away a few years ago but I seem to be loading them back on my play-list a lot again. Them and graphic audio superhero novels. I like the audio books when I work on customs, TV is too distracting but I like having a story with some cool action or horror on in the background instead of music.
