You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

For some reason I've been on a Smiths kick this week.

            Hmmmm....

Mostly The Creepshow and Devo these days; although I got the new Halford album and have played it more than a few times as of late.

I almost always have something by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Tom Waits, and Morrissey/the Smiths in my car. A friend made me a mix cd with a band I heard on WXPN called GoGol Bordello, and I've been listening to that a lot lately. They're kind of like punk with a little Gypsy violin thrown in. Fun stuff if you're in the mood for it.

Re-discovering Joy Division. I love New Order...but they're really "Joy Division-Light". Ian Curtis was the Heart and soul of that Band.

^^Joy Division is a point of contention between my husband and I We're both fans of Moby, and on a video we watched of a show, he played "New Dawn Fades." This is often a way we find new stuff, by checking out what our other favorites are into. So Nate went out and bought a Joy Division album. I was looking forward to hearing it, but when the song started I just kind of sat there, disappointed. I really thought I'd like them, wanted to like them, but I just couldn't get into it. Nate, however, loved them and we kind of pick on each other about it because it's one of the few bands we really disagree on.

Blues man always the blues. No Jazz, no R&B , old timey blues.

" there was a white man had the blues. .cause he had nothin to worry about." J.L. Hooker

                    I love that line.

And my wifes Caroline King album.
