Nasa planning on taking astronauts to Mars and leaving them forever!

Interesting concept... I'm just wondering what happens if one of the astronauts changes their mind in the middle of the trip? Ooops... Also how do you say goodbye to your family on something like this? That's just bizarre.

Wow. Just wow. We can't get back on the moon and yet this is seriously being considered? Doubt it will happen in my lifetime.

Um...no thank you. I can just see it now - they've got all of the astronauts lined up and the head guy says, "OK, we need four volunteers" and all but four guys take one step back. DOH!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

If this ever does happen they should question the sanity of anyone who volunteers

NO WAY! But I just had a funny thought: does this mean that in the future, the Earth will be invaded by humans? (instead of Martians!)

I don't know...there are places in this world that really are probably so bad that someone might think, "Yeah, I'd rather spend the rest of my life in space that stay here one more day."

Where would we be if no one had volunteered to get into a boat and start a new life some 400 years ago?

would they have access to Netflix?

I am sure they will find volunteers.

I guess it is inevitable, though I wouldn't want to go.

So...how do I nominate someone for the trip (nobody on the board)?
