It's a shame in that entire crowd there wasn't at least one gentleman there to break it up.

Yes, the idea of a "catfight" is alluring, but that's a completely different thing -- which catfights are usually staged for entertainment.

Forget about the mother, every boy/man there is guilty of being a jerk

I find FAMILY GUY extremely funny... much of the time...

unfortunately, you are right in that a good slice of the humor (a lot which
I find funny) is "extreme" humor that exploits the worst of humanity,
and while someone like me will not be desensitized by such stuff to the point
where I behave like the people in that vid that started in this thread... many
people WILL be affected in a way that will result in behavior that trashes our
            society further.

It's hard to decide what's "right" or "wrong" in this case BECAUSE of the
disparity between a guy like me and the people in that vid.

Soooooo.... that's why I always come to the conclusion that being
a "good citizen" STARTS in the home... in the way a child is raised,

...and, anything AFTER that that the "citizen" perpretrates
will be channeled through that (hopefully "good") filter.

It kind of reminds me of the "What Would You Do?" show. It amazes me that people just stand back and not get involved. One of the hardest to watch was a parent (these were all actors by the way) get upset with her kids who were arguing and fighting in the backseat; she stopped the car on a what looked like a busy sidewalk in a big city, dropped them off and told them to walk home. The child actors couldn't have been more than 5-8 years old. They cried sitting on a bench and for the most part, people just walked by...even the ones who witnessed the mother dropping them off and yelling at the beginning....unbelievable.

I seen on the news some time ago that some woman actually did that to her own kid in real life. That may be where the show got the idea from or Vice-versa.

Do you really think so? I dunno, I think kids have been fighting like this for a very long time, of course not with the parents watching. I know we were doing in Ft.Lauderdale back in the 80"s on a much bigger scale than that.

We never had any girl fights in my school back in the 70's

Boys, yea ... but not girls

I'm not saying the girls were innocent ... they used to do some pretty nasty things, but not fight.

If "offers explanation" means "is an example of what is allowing this
barbaric behavior to exist en masse", then, yes, I would say that
that keys into what I was trying to say in my previous post,
in that the only tangible solution to these types of problems begins
in instilling better values in the homes where these children are raised
which includes regulation of "bad things" and reinforcing of "postive thoughts"
on all types media and on all type people and essentially all other
                              "life lessons" possible.

I think it's funny OUR generation is the people complaining about how kids act but also OUR generation is the people that had them and raised them.

You reap what you sew -- and in general it seems to prove our generation are lousy parents.
