Mom arrested for cheering on 16 yr. old daughter in fight

I've just about lost all hope for humanity:

A Florida mother who stood on the sidelines cheering on her daughter during a planned high school fight between the teen and another girl was arrested today for child abuse. According to a Manatee C

Pathetic but not as pathetic as the people watching and cheering it on. Is this what passes for entertainment in parts of America these days? Having said that it is probably happening in the UK, i just don't know about it.

Apparently so. I bet Fox's lineup for 2012 will include teenage cat fights to the death.

Interesting, If these were two 16 year old boys I wonder if it would be different? Say for instance, my Nephew was getting bullied at school by a bigger kid, I would strongly advise him to not be pushed around and stand up to him. If you don't stand your ground as a kid, you could end up being a door mat the rest of your life.

The video is down now, but I too am disappointed. Neither of the girls sat down on their punches, and I doubt that either of them had any clue how to throw a proper hook or uppercut. What are we teaching our children these days?

Agree 100%! I know that well. I trained in boxing & Martial arts on & off since i was like 8 yrs old. Never, ever tolerate the bully. Yet the Mom in the video bothered me. I dont recommend meeting the bully after school to settle a problem, defend yourself, dont meet up with a bully or whoever, let them seek you.

You know I learned from an early age, i was always the nice polite quiet kid until I got bullied around, My step father use to tell me, stand up for yourself and beat his *** or I'll beat yours when you get home I always took my chances with the kid at school Only if I got bullied though

There are definitely some real winners out there.

Well, they do show Family Guy after all. Hard to scrape the cultural barrel lower than that. Never got the appeal of that show. Painfully unfunny.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Kids these days are sometimes so obnoxious, I think I would watch them beat the **** out of each other.
On the bus this morning, I watched a woman trying to get her baby stroller onto the step. She was surrounded by teenagers, and not one lifted a finger, not even to hold the door open. I had to struggle through a crowded bus to get to her.
Let them fight to the death, I tell you.....
