I had taken my dog to the vet that morning, so everything happened while I was there. In the Washington DC area there was much misinformation going on that morning. God Bless all of those who suffered that day in NYC, DC, and in PA.

Suspicious of how the towers fell? They collapsed as they should. They buried people of a lot of different nations, there's no conspiracy theory folks, just out right hate for the western world.. I would expect more post on this subject, than that a AJ variation. I guess most people just don't care that much anymore. mho.

I was at my job in East Brunswick (security anti-counterfeitng OVDs - holography, with a long list of domestic and international governments and agencies as clients), in one of the sales guy's offices when the general manager of the company came in and said "Hey, a plane hit the WTC." We all figured it was a small plane... until I went back to my office in the Art/Holography Dept. where my supervisor was watching the live newsfeed online. My buddy in the electroforming dept. was listening to Howard Stern on the radio doing his take on everything.

A little while later, we saw the second plane hit.

Later still, we saw the first tower fall. Then the second. Then we heard about explosions at the Pentagon and throughout Washington D.C. (which were later proven false). Needless to say, everyone was shaking, calls were being made to anyone we knew in NYC to see if they were OK, and we pretty much gave up on accomplishing any work that day. When i left for home, I could see this massive cloud of dust, smoke, etc. fill the sky in the direction of the city.

Next day, all of our e-mails and fax machines were filled with messages of support from all of our clients, especially the ones from outside the US. Best was this news report from Canada, with all of these residents gathering up supplies, donating blood, cases of water, food, etc. Then this nice old lady, when asked what was going through her mind at the moment, said "Hey, those folks (the US) are always our neighbors and friends. We may not always get along with 'em, but you always look out for your neighbors, especially if they're hurting." (Canada was the first country to show us such support that day, and I have nothing but the utmost love, honor, and respect to our neighbors and friends in the Great White North. You folks are aces, and always will be to me!)

My friend in electroforming said it best that morning nine years ago: "Feel that? The world just changed."

Zemo, this is a very good explanation. What I would add is the floor joists between the columns on the perimeter wall and the core structure have not been referred to as floor joists by the NYC Fire Dept. They have referred to them as Trusses. In one TV documentary they even repeat an oft used phrase in the Fire Dept: "Never trust a truss!" I'm not sure if there is a real difference or if it's a preference of construction to call these joists.

The trusses/joists are not as big and as strong as I beams. Also the fire insulation they received was probably not enough to protect them from the fire after the impact. It is theorized that the initial blast from the planes probably stripped all heat insulation from the trusses/joists in affected areas. That would mean the trusses/joists were exposed raw to the fire. Being thinner and weaker than I beams they started softening, deforming and breaking. When enough of the connecting clips & trusses failed the building collapsed like dominoes or a house of cards.

I would also like to point something out to people who entertain conspiracy theories. Some claim the fact that the buildings went straight down is a sign that charges had been placed throughout the building ahead of time. This is nonsense. Logistically a demolition crew of hundreds of people would have to tear into parts of the building from top to bottom to get to crucial connections to plant charges. They would be seen, they would be noticed and they would leave suspicious traces of their work wherever it was completed.

Second if you look over the photos of the collapse you will see the towers did not go straight down perfectly. This photo on AOL illustrates my point. You clearly see the top of the tower starting to break in at least 2 different directions on your left hand side. It is starting to pinwheel spin or tumble because the weight is not distributed evenly as the trusses/joists fail. If it were demolished on purpose you would not get this effect.

Also I don't think any demolition company would ever agree to detonate charges while people are still in a building.

I was asleep, and my dad woke me up...he had a look on his face like I've never seen before...I knew instantly it was something very, very bad.

Terrible day...but like Zemo said, I won't ever forget or forgive.

At the time one of my nephews worked in downtown Manhattan.
After the attack he basically had to walk to New Jersey until he could call us to let us know he was ok.
All cell phones were out at that time.

Hands down the worst thing I have ever seen in my life.


I was at work and heard, over the radio station I was listening to, that the first plane had hit . I went into the office of my boss (small family owned business) and he turned on his TV. We sat and watched as the second jet hit and we were in shock. When I went home for lunch I put in the first of three video tapes and recorded 24 hours straight of CNN coverage. I put the tapes away and have never watched them. My son was only 5 at the time so if he ever wants to know what that day was like I will let him watch the tapes. I have no desire to ever see it again.

I really don't know what else to say as I still have that same feeling of shock on this date every year. It still feels like it just happened. May God bless those who lost their lives and those who lost their loved ones.

I disagree with that analogy.

The last remaining Super-Power is the FREE WORLD, ... USA included.

I was at work getting ready to head out for the day when the first plane hit. We were all sent home to be with our families. I watched the second plane hit at home. Was terrible to see it all on the tv and cant get the images out of my head. I remember feeling very angry. Hard to believe its been this long since. Remember it like yesterday. I showed my kids some of the footage from that day as they were to young to remember. They were shocked.
