I was near a small town of Sumpter Oregon, on a camping trip. I was fishing at the time the plans hit

I didn't even know anything had happened until about 12:30pm pacific time, so by the time I heard, the buildings were gone. The info we first got was all 2nd hand and heard talk of no air traffic and that there was talk about shutting down freeways and major highways ... lots of misc. idea that were coming from the small town folks mouth. my dad uncle and I cut our trip short since we were about a 7 hour drive home, and didn't want to get stuck away from the rest of the family ... if everything beind told to us were true. about 7pm that night we made a pit stop at my other uncle's house and saw the footage on TV.

for sure a day I won't forget, and now everytime I go fishing I can't help but think of that horrible day and the people who were killed for no reason.

I just copied & pasted this from my facebook page:

A friend of mine and I had had a sort of "falling out" and we hadn't spoke for
over a year. She phoned me the night before the tragedy & we resolved our
issues via a long, draining conversation, then I finally (happily) went to
      sleep.

A scant few hours later I woke up to the phone ringing... and it's my
      friend calling me back.

Tiredly, I snapped at her: "This better be important!"
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

No mention in the title or description of where the performance was from?
          Weird.

It definitely was my favorite performance from that show though.

Not really, considering they were burning on top ... they're not going to fall over like tree.

All it took was a few steal beams to melt and fail.
An entire floor dropped down to the one below it.
The one below couldn't hold the weight and dropped down and so on.

Both planes were almost full with jet fuel when the hit both towers. Jet fuel burns at a pretty high temperature rate...it was a miracle that they stood up as long as they did.

I was working in an Air Traffic Control Tower in Northern California when it happened. I got a call from another Controller working at our Approach Control. I could hear something strange in her voice as she called my Tower over the shout line. After I answered the line, she said were under attack, you need to get every airplane on your frequency down now! The Airspace is closed. I replied in a confused state. My Airspace and she replied, No the NAS (National Airspace System).

I was on my way to the bookstore I worked at. I remember I had woken up that morning and the blinds had been open, and literally my first thought of the day was how clear the sky was. I caught a few images on televisions on my walk in, stopping to get something to drink, but I didn't have a context yet. When I got to the store one of the other managers pulled me into an office with a television.
I said to them that day that I hoped it was a few home-grown insane radicals, because the last thing we needed was more racial paranoia and another round of internment camps.

A friend of mine was dating a girl who worked in the first tower - she was in her office that morning and never had the chance to leave.
My Brother In Law's cubicle mate had called her brother who worked in the building. The brother was on his cell phone with her his entire time down the stairs, and then out into the street. He was still on the phone with her when he told her he was going back into the building because the fire crew at the entrance needed help carrying some injured people out. The line went dead when the antennae collapsed along with the rest of the tower, which she was watching on live feed.
Eight hours later she got contact from him. He had woken being treated, there had been a gas explosion at ground floor when the building started to come down - the shockwave had picked him up and blown him back, saving his life. It took most of the clothes off his body, but he was alive.

I got a wake up call from my dad. I lived in Brooklyn across from the Towers my Dad said are you awake? are you seeing what's happening? he told me go look out your window what I saw was unreal like I was seeing a scene from a movie. I saw the first Tower on fire and I thought what a horrible accident then within minutes I saw the other plane come out of nowhere and hit the second tower I thought oh my that's no accident.....then my Dad said isn't that the Restaurant that you have been sending your resume to? In August I kept sending my resume to them over and over I wanted to work for Windows of the World but I was frustrated when I got no call back.....I Thank God that I never did.....but sorry to see so many lives lost.

Like Johnnie said, it was pretty sureal if you were downtown that day. I was on an R train and not paying attention and passed my stop at Whitehall Street. The R train starts cutting west from there, towards the WTC. I got off at Rector street, behind Trinity church. This put me about 2 1/2 blocks away from the WTC at about 9:35 or 9:40. I then walked east to 100 Wall street, where I worked. I did not hear or see anything. Like Johhnie mentioned in his post, there were papers blowing all over. I did not notice until I got to my desk. My boss' window looked north towards the Brooklyn Bridge. There was paper blowing all over. A co-worker, whos'e window looked at the WTC started yelling a plane hit one of the twin towers. We all thought it was some small plane. We continued working. Then she yelled another plane hit. We tried to leave after the first building collapsed. As I was walking towards the corner of Water and Fulton, the 2nd tower fell, dust everywhere. I went back to my lobby. Eventually, a bunch of water taxis were taking people accross to Brooklyn from the SS Seaport. They dropped us off under the Brooklyn Bridge on the shore. It all seems like an odd dream now.
