Was meaning to post this last Friday on the anniversary of his death.

I remember hearing the news of Stevie Ray Vaughns death.

It's been that long, huh? I still recall when I heard the news. Time does go by so fast. One of the best guitarists. That Austin City Limits performance always blows me away. Never get tired of it.

I heard one of his songs on the radio the other day and was thinking the same thing.
          It's all good!

I had just seen him in concert a month before his death.

I still remember exactly where I was when I heard the news. With a bunch of friends in our condo in Hilton Head Island and it came over the news.....early reports had Eric Clapton with them. that was a tragic day.

Me too but mostly because it was so close to us. We have been to Alpine Valley a ton of times including every time we went to Ozzfest. I am only 13 miles from the Cheddar Curtain (Wisconsin boarder) and it's less then an hour drive to East Troy.

A co-worker at the time was a huge SRV fan and has always hated Clapton for giving up his seat on the helicopter to Stevie.

That's nonsense, and not at all what happened..

Although, not a big SRV fan (I have a few of his CDs and bootlegs), I admired his work and thought it was a horrible tragety. A good friend of mine at the time was a huge SRV fan and he heard the news on the radio while driving to work and nearly drove off the road. He pulled over and weeped for several minutes.

I never knew the full story so I do thank you for posting that link. It didn't matter to me as nothing was going to bring Stevie back anyway. It's too bad as he played with soul. Just as tagic as when Randy Rhodes died.
