Famously known for staff addressing each other over the intercom by Star Trek references...such as captain, number one, and ensign...

I still have a bunch of Breyer horses that I collected as a kid - most of the ones I got were famous horses or ones that had appeared in books I read, like "The Black Stallion," or "Misty of Chincoteague." I had a bunch of other ones that appealed to me for one reason or another. I used to pose my dolls riding them. I recently thought about selling a few of them, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I also have my original She Ra doll, that I touched up the paint and reconditioned her hair.Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
Check out my customs!

it was from a series called Farbs and the car is named Hy-Gear
Well my favorite toy is pre-action figure: From the Sears at Willowbrook Mall in NJ from 1969 or 1970, my parents bought me Winnie the Pooh. If anyone recalls Sears used to sell stuffed Pooh's and other characters. Pooh is about 10 inches tall and has a red bib rather than a red shirt. He also has a bell in his ear and he sits on top of a shelf with other curios of my past (non toys). We moved to Maryland in the summer of 1970 and we lived about a mile from shops like this particular shoe store. Pooh went with me everywhere much like his other pal Christopher Robin. He survived being dropped in the mud, having his printed name rubbed off his flannel bib, etc. He went with my mom, brother and I when we went to get new shoes. A few hours later we pull up to home. My brother and I got out and my mom asks "where's your Pooh Bear?" I left him in the store and the store would be closed in the next 15 minutes. We got back into the car and we headed back. That is my first memory of being scared I'd lose something I cared about very much. I never really thought of him back then as a toy. He was Pooh. I had visions of other children running away with him. The owner of the store throwing him in the trash. It had been almost three hours since we were there and the mile drive back seemed like we were driving across the country. We got there five minutes before they closed and Pooh was sitting in the chair he had been in when we left. The owner said he saw him there and figured we would be back. In my head I was telling Pooh how worried I was. His response was something like "Oh, I slept 'till you got back. Can we get some Honey, now?"It's all good!Comment

All of my original WGSH have a huge sentimental value (shock), but my Darth Vader figure means a lot to me because I remember how I got it. I was at my brother's cub scout Christmas party and they called my name at the end of the present giving. I didn't expect a present so I was thrilled. Obviously, my mom thought of me and how I wouldn't get anything and brought something for me, too.Comment

I still have my Shazam from when I was little, he has been through hell and back. He has been just about everything since I would make him into a CHP, Starfleet, Klingon, and even Spiderman. He has gone through replacment parts, since his original body parts were burned, his throat has been cut before and glued back together. He has his scars but he is still around wearing some original Shazam suit I picked up a couple years ago. I have way better Shazams but I would get rid of them before I would my beat up little friend.Comment

For me it's a few toys:
My KISS dolls, Gene, Paul and Ace, I've owned for 32 years now. 1978 was a special time where my obsession with KISS perfectly collided with my love of Mego figures in the creation of these toys. When I first heard of their existence, I combed toy stores far and wide until I found some. These were really the first toys I bought as a "collectible". I was 10 years old, but I really didn't play with them, but instead reverently displayed them on my bookshelf. I guess that's why I still have them today in great condition. I could never sell them.
Shogun Warriors Mazinga and Godzilla. The former because it was my first exposure to the wonderful world of Japanese robots and Japanese toys. That really helped shape my future interests. And Godzilla because it was the first toy I ever owned of a character who's movies I was obsessed with as a child. I now have a fairly large Godzilla toy collection, but this guy was the beginning of it all, and I will never sell him.
Mego Batcopter: I got this for Christmas when I was 6 years old. This is the oldest Mego item that I received as a child that I still have in my possession. For that reason alone, I can't part with it.Last edited by cjefferys; Sep 2, '10, 12:07 AM.Comment
