Not really, the climate is so mild when a real heat wave strikes it's unbearable. It's all relative.

I was born in the tropics, where the humidity and temperatures are high all year round. When it dips to the 70s, on those rare days, people shiver and wear jackets. I prefer heat over the cold. This heat wave right now feels really great.

Most people around these parts including myself is the opposite.
In the winter during cold weather you occassional see people with shorts and T-shirts on --- myself included

There is a BIG difference though in the humidity from Phoenix to St. Louis.

Central air is definitely a blessing out of this world. Whomever invented it is a friggin genius. AND.....was probably tired of sweating his b*lls off.
