What's a Taco Bus? Is that a regional thing?

In California we call them taco trucks....they are extremely popular here were I live (Oakland)...usually one in almost every street corner on International Blvd...lol.

They are the authentic street food soft tacos...the exact ones you find in Mexico...they are cheap and delicious.

I can see those new Cantina tacos succeeding in places with they are no taco trucks...but in heavy taco truck country...Taco Bell is not going to sell many there.

Sounds like PepsiCo trying to cash in the Machete taco truck craze.
Nothing beats the real deal and in the Portland and Seattle, the Food Cart/Truck trend as taken a whole new direction.
If ever in Portland, go to these places: Food Carts Portland

I had the best Tacos ever at a Lake Chelan Taco truck.
I had to drive far to get to Taco Trucks here in Seattle but now they are EVERYWHERE.
Just need to find me an amazing a place and serves killer Fish Tacos.

I actually do frequent Taco Bell for the typical hard shell tacos...I like them.

But I was hesitant on their new Cantina tacos...because I'm a hardcore taco-eater at those taco trucks...lol.

But I'll give them a try...I'll give an honest opinion on them...I'll let you know if they are close to the traditional taco truck stuff.

Having said that...I'll bet you a million dollars Taco bell will not be offering what the taco trucks offer...tacos al pastor, de cabeza, de lomo, lengua, chivo, carnitas, chorizo, chicharrón, pescado, camarón, and cesos...no way...

Ensenada, Baja Cali, has the best fish tacos on the planet...

Rubio's is a taco chain that serves decent fish tacos...too bad they are not in your area...

About taco trucks...not all are created equal...there's a lot of trial and error...some are quite inferior...but some are off the chain...

Been to Rubios when I lived in Phoenix. They were good, I have to admit.
What I do miss are the Tacos I had in Baja. Yup, best on the planet. One of things I enjoyed doing when I lived in L.A., drive down to SD, pick up friend and head to Baja for some fun and food.

I will admit, I've had some good Salmon tacos up here from this place: Skillet Street Food
When they serve it. Amazing to say the least.
But I do miss me some good ole fashion true blue Baja style Fish Tacos.

Nope, not the tasty stuff. Just steak and chicken, their ONLY staples.
Not to mention all the home made salas.
                      Okay, taco for dinner tonight!!

I hear ya, I've tried almost every Taco Truck in the Seattle area and found only a handful that offer the best in preparation and service.
But the best one so far is 150 miles east of Seattle. Huge Hispanic farming community. Best food!!!

See...this is the real McCoy...authentic tacos al pastor (also called tacos árabes, due to Lebanese immigrants introducing this method to Mexico)...these types are not even in taco trucks.

It's delicious and savory flame-roasted marinated pork served with either sliced pineapple or has pineapple glaze already on...these suckers are the best...mmm...I'm hungry now...lol...

I think you should. You being a major foodie and techie would LOVE this town.
I think you would do well where my girlfriend/partner works, ALLRECIPES.com. She handles the Tech Platforms for International. Yup, even the Hispanic sites.
Then have some cooking sessions at our place.
