Hmm..I don't remember that part. It has been forever though since I have seen Back To The Future though. I will get out the DVD and dust it off and give it a view again soon. Thanks!

After Hagar when they got that new guy they used to play Atlantic City casinos -- which is a big step down from their usual older venues

I had pretty much every AC/DC record on vinyl back in the 70s and 80s, but I never had any Van Halen. So my pick is AC/DC.

I am giving a slight edge to Van Halen....two totally different bands. I don't play guitar but can tell that Eddie Van Halen is classically trained and even to my untrained ear; there are only a handful of guitarists up in his league.

I can't really give any other reason other than personal preference. I like them both a lot but if I were to go through the list and count how many AC/DC songs I really like compared to Van Halen; I personally lean toward Van Halen

I suppose you never heard of Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai? Makes Eddie look like he just started playing...
                I say Van Halen.

AC/DC with Bon Scott over V/H anyday...though Van Halen was great/better woth Roth IMOO. I'd rather hear Angus rift on Let there be Rock than anything eddie's done.

I have to say it, Eddie is over rated. I'll concede that his technique was unique for it's time but honestly it turned more int noise than melody. As far as speed, eh, it's a moot point for me. I prefer melody. Joe Satriani (sp?) Brian Johnson those guys are true melody makers. And of course let us not forget Randy Rhodes. Had he lived I can only imagine the innovations that guy would have come up with.

I've always been more of a Van Halen fan (Roth & Hagar).....AC/DC is cool and has a lot of great songs but a LOT of their stuff all sounds the same to me after a while...just change the double entendre and you've got a new song....

                          70s AC/DC is my fave.
Van Halen 1 was the first lp I purchased.
Beats the hell out of the Brian Johnson's AC/DC.
                          Bon Scott all the way.
                          DLR Van Halen 1,close second.

I had never heard of either band as I was into 50's and 60's oldies and Elvis music when I was young, and until my "music awakening" in 10th grade, didn't listen to any of the current music of the time. I didn't want to seem like an idiot for not knowing either band, so I replied "RUSH"

One of the first bands I was introduced to when I finally got my musical tastes current was AC/DC and I remember thinking, "I was an idiot to tell that dude that Rush was a better band, this band is awesome". A few months later Rush's "Moving Pictures" was released and I friend of mine got the album and we played it and my first thought was "Wow, I actually did get that question correct when I answered, Rush. They have been my favorite band ever since and I am going to drive up and kidnap Mikey and take him to see the concert at the Allentown fair in a few weeks! Especially since he started that "my fair sucks for music this year" thread some time ago!

Anyway, sorry to get off topic, just had to chuckle when I saw the thread title and remembered that. As for my answer, both are great and it's a tough choice, but Van Halen gets my vote.
Ah! A fellow Rush fan! A red star, high in hand, to you, sir!

I'm in the AC/DC camp - I love 'em both, but Angus and the boys have that extra bit of edge to 'em that VH doesn't have (oh, once upon a time, VH might've been top dog, but now...)

Still, all must bow to Lemmy!

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
