Even with my air conditioner running full blast, the greenhouse effect on my corner unit is cooking me alive right now. Add the head cold and slight fever, I think I'm on the verge of seeing leprechauns and frogs offering me breakfast cereal. I think it's time to put on some pants and wander over to an air conditioned mall or movie theatre. Not getting any work done this afternoon anyways.

This summer is not hot at all here in the Bay Area. It's very mild. I wish it would get really hot so that I could have my iced drinks and not feel chilled to the bone afterwards.

Not that I'm complaining. It's really very pleasant.

I'm trying very hard to forget. Miserable just miserable. When I came home the biggest thing that freaked me out was my eyes. All the green and colors. After looking and that sand **** hole.

NY summers have been getting hotter each year since the 90's. Also the sun's
heat reflecting off all the buildings increases that temp. Not too far upsate by me we have 102 today. I called out of work. No way am I going to go into a building for 10 hours with 102 outside and roughly 110 inside since they have no ac except in the office

What is the humidity like? Hot is hot...but it's so much different with high humidity.

I personally will take 100 degrees with 0 humidity than 90 degree with 90 percent humidity (Arkansas)

Ahhh....summertime in the South. Same weather in Arkansas. The humidity is what makes the difference. You can't go outside for more than 10 minutes without breaking a massive sweat.

So true. The 90-100% humidity here makes all the difference.

I was just thinking about this yesterday when I saw a report about the heatwave on the East Coast.

I think we may have your weather here in Oklahoma.

We should be at 100+ degrees, right now. Instead, it's been in the low 80s for the last few days and we are getting rain like you wouldn't believe. It's raining right now for like the 5th day in a row. The forecasted High for this week is 88 degrees. It's 80 degrees outside at what should be the hottest part of the day.

This was the second year in a row that the Fourth of July weekend was mostly rain and that is highly unusual for us. Normally, we see very little rain in July. It's weird to see everything this green and all of the farm ponds filled to the brim like they are now.

Alabama is like 8.5" below our annual rainfall through July 1. It's hasn't rained significantly in months. Sure, we have our annual summer shower outburst. But that just means it rains on the east side of town for 10 minutes but not nn the west side. You can see where the rain starts and stops.

The few times I had to get in or out of my car today or leave the office it was brutal. Thank god the A/C in my car works unlike my last one.

Since we're near the ocean, it can be VERY bad some days depending on wind direction.., but typically it stays dry, like walking into a blow dryer (seriously..).

It's like the hotest day in an Arizona summer, just staying like that from May through October.

And the outdoor porto-johns..? They smell all the more 'riper' the hotter it gets. Oy.
