you think maybe they just play that stupid to get on TV? I'm sure the people who get them right they don't show
Of course they show mostly people who don't know the answers, that's where the laughs are.
However, the reality is many people do not know this stuff any more. Our educational system is terrible, and getting worse. My oldest just graduated High School two weeks ago, and I feel fortunate that he's learned anything. Sure, individual accountability, and parental guidance factor into this as well, but there must be a base level of responsibility at the school and administration levels to engage kids to learn and achieve.
When my kid gets home I'll ask him the same questions and report back.
Actually, Paul Revere said "The Regulars are coming", not "The British are coming" because at the time, they were subjects of the crown themselves, and thus considered "British".

All in all he did quite well, and much better than I had thought he would do. Props to him.
My 9th grade daughter didn't fare as well though.. I stopped quizzing her after the 2nd question. Seems American History comes later for her (at High School), so I cut her some slack.
Wow, these people are really stupid and the thing is I'm not surprised. People just don't care; no wonder people from other countries call us stupid Americans.
