Movie tickets here are $7.50. But with a family of 5 and the large popcorn - large soda combo (which you can refill as many times as you'd like for free) it can be a pricey afternoon. But well worth it with a good movie.Leave a comment:

Thats just it its A. A fun kids movie and B. A typical summer movie. Enjoy it for what its worth.I told my kids before we went to the theater that the movie got really bad reviews, and to not expect it to be so great. I warned them about the "Ung" pronunciation...and told them that it was the director's interpretation, and it would be a little different from the cartoon that we love so much...to just have fun while we watched the movie. They loved it!
And Ashton (who is 5) was so into the movie, he kept air bending in his seat. When we were leaving the theater, Ashton was still doing his air bending moves. The kids really loved it, and to me, that made it fun. I mean, it was way better than Marmaduke, which put me to sleep. (That was an expensive nap).
Expensive tickets are not the fault of directors.Leave a comment:

You won't know if you'll like it until YOU go see it. Just how much others opinions influence your decision to see it is up to you. I'm sure I've seen dozen of films that I enjoyed that Rotten Tomatoes has hated. I typically don't put much stock in what they say. If you enojoy it, that's all that matters.Leave a comment:

I agree with all those points and yet I still remember filling up my Super Soaker when I got home and placing Mego Aquaman strategically near my bed for protection from these Aliens. lolI especially hate Signs.
Highly advanced creatures...on an invasion of Earth...yet they keep all their attacks harassing Mel Gibson and his family around a corn field in the middle of nowhere?
They can jump rooftops...yet they can't brake down a wooden door, nail down windows?
Water kills them...yet the aliens decide to invade Earth with NO protective suits of any kind?
Plus not only is Earth 70% water...but there's perpetual moisture in the air at all times...lol.
Plus where's all the alien weaponry at?
Silly...silly...silly little movie...

See it in 2D if you can. The movie was filmed in 2D then they added 3D after the fact. Probably because they knew the movie would fail so they needed the extra 3 bucks a ticket to recoup their losses. And it looks crappy in 3D because of this. Just like Clash of the Titans did.
If the movie was made with 3D in mind, then it looks a lot better. Like Toy Story or UP!
I hear they're adding 3D to the Green Hornet too.Leave a comment:

Signs was awesome. Probably the best invasion flick in decades.
Rotten Tomatoes isn't really a good gage on anything like a M. Night Shyamalan movie, because the internet nerds all think alike and vote stuff down or send in bad reviews.
That said, I heard this movie wasn't very good.Leave a comment:

How could you leave out The Crappening?
That was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time and possibly his worst film . . . and that's really saying something. It's a shame because it was actually an interestig idea. I don't know how he screwed it up so badly. I was hoping that he'd get back on track with The Last Airbender, but I guess that's not going to happen.

Wow, I had no idea it was getting bad ratings. That's really disappointing. I have only watched the cartoon a few times, and thought the movie looked pretty kick ***. The trailers were good. What a bummer.Leave a comment:
