I wait for the eventual takeover by the CN original toons though. Dexter and Cow and Chicken have already come over. Just waiting for Ed, Edd and Eddy. Sigh.

Boomerang is slowly becoming a haven for cartoons that no longer run on Cartoon Network,it seems. So that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Are you serious? Wow, I sware I thought Swat Kats was new stuff! 15 years old? damn, i had no clue! None. Thanks for that info.

I was hoping by now that thundarr would have a DVD collection plus maybe some extras on the set, but it wasnt released just yet. I do have the entire series on DVD, but my i was hoping for the official release. Boomerang used to air it huh?

New....? SWAT-Kats is almost 15 years old. Co-inkey-dinkelley enough; I just finished converting my tapes to DVD. It's my second favourite cartoon of all time, and until recently the last really good action show N. America produced. (There were VERY few morals, just two guys in a plane blowing stuff up. Now THAT'S entertainment!) I guess it was popular, but Turner himself pulled the plug. And then made another five seasons of "Captain Planet."

      *shudder*

      >I was hoping they would bring back Thundarr the Barbarian, The Herculoids, The 70's Flash Gordon toon or was that 80's? Old Fantastic four, basically anything 60's or 70's & 80's.

THUNDARR!!!!!! I've been told that there are a LOT of rights issues with the old cartoons. Back in the late 80's/early 90's when the Japanese stuff got popular companies scooped up every cartoon they could. And then sat on them; waiting for each to become the "next big thing."

There's a lot of it out there, too. The 80's saw a boom in animation, and so many shows came out. And died just as fast; but still....

There's a couple of Thundarr episodes up right now on Time Warner Cable's "Kids On Demand" channel.

I think Thundarr also has a chance of the backlash from the Lucasfilm legal dept due to his eneygy sword (i can't remember what it was called) Lucas has sued constantly for anything even remotely like a lightsaber

Has anyone noticed they hardly show any Warner Bros. Looney Tunes on Boomernag anymore? What's up with that? They're all still part of the giant conglomerate family...

Thundar was recently on Boomerang. AS for the CN ads, I can do nicely without them but Boomerang runs thier shows with practically no commercials except for periodic Boomerang bumpers. With the hour shows they do interupt for a bit of promos.

So, when it comes tight down to it, I don't mind the CN promos running after the main show is done (which is usually when it happens).

I never even watched Boomerang before this post. I just recently got digital cable a couple months ago. They do have some great cartoons on there from my cartoon days in the 70's. I love that my 3 year old is watching and loving some of these oldies.

Well, if that's the case, every movie studio in history should be lining up to sue Lucas for all of the ideas he "borrowed" from their past works...
