THE ULTIMATES SUCK!!!
THE HEROES REBORN SUCK!!!
I read Marvel for years until the McFarlaee era destroyed everything. MY cap HAS WINGS, MY Nick Fury ain't bald, and MY marvel universe had the richest history in comics, no alternate universes ala DC, which is why I hated DC in the first place, man Cap never gets a break, every figure is F'ed every movie likewise....Comment

In case anyone missed it, somebody slipped a link showing the actual costume (well..a drawing) in that sites reply sections:

as for my opinion, I had hoped they would stick with the classic suit, but I just knew they wouldnt. Marvels movies so far have for the most part been based on the Ultimates stuff...like it or not, its what we are stuck with."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

I dunno. To me Captain America is a brilliant comic icon - but I would never believe in a guy wearing blue chainmail and and a winged cowl in real life.
I kind of just assumed the original costume would be used as a tip of the hat to fans in a scene where the army makes him wear it to rally the troops or something and then switch to something more practical.
Sorry you're not pleased though!Comment

I like that suit. It works well for the context of WWII. Now... where he gets defrosted in Avengers, that's different.
Besides... Sam Jackson as Nick Fury? Like you didn't know they would go with the Ultimates WWII Cap uniform?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

not sure I like the look of the helmet but the rest of the suit in the drawing works well in the context of the "real" world. I understand where Bizzaro is coming from but with real people spandex usaully does not work so well. that's why Xmen went to leather.Comment

If the movie is good, I can live with it. And the Ultimates WWII costume is a nice design...BUT that "retro" thinking bothers me. The idea of "this is what he would have worn in WWII" doesn't fly with me because...Captain America, the comic character, did exist in WWII, and he didn't wear that! Simon and Kirby imagined the costume he (more or less) still wears today, and I'm sure they didn't think of it as ultra-shiny, but Hollywood surely could have pulled it off in a believable fashion.
Heck, make a slightly wooly, thick version for WWII, and then give him spandexy-armor when he gets thawed out.
Think of Kirk Alyn's Superman suit vs. Chris Reeve's. Why not go that route?

This would be my guess, too. By the time he sees action in the Avengers movie, he'll have to get a more contemporary costume change. While I'm not in love with this new design (again, it's just a drawing - I'm waiting to see how this looks IRL), it does seem more practical for the time period (the whole movie takes place during WWII, right? Please correct me if I'm in err!)."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."Comment
