The Great Escape vs Stalag 17

Watching a double feature on TCM.

Trying to decide which movie I like better (I love them both)

I'm leaning a little toward The Great Escape.

Which one do you like better ?

Wasn't Ian from Doctor Who in The Great Escape? Well other than that,I'm a James Garner fan so I lean more towards it for that reason.

The great escape for me hands down.

I like them both but Stalag 17 has to be my favorite of the two. The Guns of Navarone is right up there too. All time favortie is the Dirty Dozen

Wow, I never knew that and I seen The Great Escape at least 10 times.

Does anyone have a screen capture of him in it ?

It said on IMDB his character name is Sorren.

Great Escape....watch it every time it's on TV. Thank God PBS shows it in widescreen. I hated when TBS or one of those other stations used to show it "Formatted to fit your TV". Quite possibly my most favorite movie of all time. And all of those actors in it...Sir Richard Attenborough, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Garner, Donald Pleasance, and James Coburn. I mean you couldn't get a movie like this done these days without someone on the set throwing a hissy fit. Just a classic movie. If you haven't seen it...WATCH IT.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                    The beauty that surrounds them
                    Isn't it a pity".

I'd have to go with Stalag 17. It's one of my all time favorites.

                        Stalag 17.

Lets be serious. What elite prison camp is going to let Steve McQueen carry a base ball into lock up? LOL

Stalag 17 is one of my favorite films of all time. Billy Wilder is an amazing writer/director.

But why make it a contest? "The Great Escape" is fantastic too!

                            never seen Stalag 17.

Great Escape is one of my all time favorite movies. I had it on VHS and when it was released on DVD I picked that up. Great movie, based on real experiences of POW's and just a fun movie to watch
