Anyone here ever go boating ?

Since summer is here was wondering if anyone goes boating every now and then ?

It could be fishing on a rowboat, sailing or a yacht

The thing is, the boat has to be operated by either you or someone you know. (rentals are fine)

Not chartered deep sea fishing etc.

For me, that last time I went was about 30 years ago fishing with my older brother with a beat-up wooden rowboat.
It was my job to row and also bail water out every 3 minutes
It almost sank 20 times in 1 hour

    I miss those days

    Anybody else ?

      You should go.
Just make sure you wear a life preserver and you'll be fine.

I've been on a few boats but not very often.
Last summer I went on a boat that my cousins own on Findley Lake, NY.
        I've never owned one.

I have an old Sunfish sailboat that I keep at my parents' summer home on Lake Michigan. I'm a pretty bad sailor, but I break it out maybe once or twice a year when I'm up there, depending on wind and wave conditions.

Fishing and diving are a huge part of my life. I'm either on or in the ocean almost every day, especially in the summer... Otherwise my gills dry out. LOL! I've been on and around boats and the ocean my whole life. I could not imagine living inland, let alone somewhere that didn't have an ocean. Beach life is awesome...

I just did a couple of days ago. I accidentally goosed the throttle and sent one of my twins flying. Mommy no like.

I've been boating, but I'd rather be tromping through the woods.

In NY you now NEED a salt water license to fish, so that's out. I gave up saltwater fishing for fly fishing in my late teens, and rowboats were swapped for waders. Though I do go out for recreational rides here and again.

I'm going white-water rafting on a river all weekend.

One of my favorite things to do. I grew up going to the lake almost every weekend and for a full two-weeks every summer. Water skiing, fishing, rope swings from a cliff, canoeing, kayaking, rafting...the whole shooting match. Big time fun and I am forever grateful to my parents for making that a big part of my growing up experience.
