                Technically a 1980 album, and a greatest hits at that, but all 1970's songs...



                but I'd go with this for pure new album of the 70's as well

                  Bingo! 2112 is a masterpiece and relatively unknown to most. The first time I listened my thoughts were "what in the heck is this". But then a friend told me to read the narrative on the album while listening. I was BLOWN AWAY! What a masterpiece of music and storytelling. It's been my favorite album from that day. Nothing else even comes close.

                    HUNKY DORY would be my favorite
                    followed closely by WHO'S NEXT, THE CARS, and LOOK SHARP.

                    The Stranger and Piano Man ain't bad either.

                      I forgot about the Cars first album.
