Hard to pick one, so here's a few. I doubt these would be on anyone else's lists.

    Styx - Grand Illusion
    Triumph - Just a Game
    Saga - s/t
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Watch

and my favorite 70's album and best live album ever...

Kansas - Two for the Road

This is the album that started it all for me.

George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass"
Paul McCartney and Wings "Band On The Run"
Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
            Boston's "Boston"
Billy Joel's "The Stranger" and "52nd Street"
            The Who's "Who's Next"
            Led Zeppelin's "Physical Graphitti"

            The list goes on...
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
            The beauty that surrounds them
            Isn't it a pity".

            - "Isn't It A Pity"

I had both of those. They hold some nostalgia for me, but Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, The Eagles' Hotel California, Zepplin's Houses of the Holy, Clapton's 461 Ocean Blvd. and Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd, Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell, The Who's Who's Next and Elton John's Greatest hits are probably my favorites from 1970s.

George Harrison's All Things Must Pass...

                  Jethro Tull's Aqualung.

Fleetwood Mac's Black Magic Woman... Although Carlos Santana does a great cover of the song, it was a Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac original.

Although Carlos Santana does a great cover of the song, it was a Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac original.

Osibisa's self titled album. If I had to pigeon hole their sound, I'd say it was an AfriCaribbean Rock with a strong Jazz influence....

Although it was recorded in 1967, I first discovered The Songs of Leonard Cohen in 1974, so I associate this with the Seventies. His "Best Of" album released in 1975 was built around the strongest songs from this album...

                  David Bowie's Young Americans...

Peter Gabriel's self titled Album... The first single from the Album, Solsbury Hill is one of those songs that gets better with each listen...

Elvis Costello's My Aim Is True...

The debut album of The Police, Outlandos d'Amour...

The Clash's London Calling was a compelling album. It had a great sound, and was musically complex.

                  Little Feat's Waiting For Columbus...

                  Van Morrison's Tupelo Honey...

If only 1 pick,I say Pink Floyd's the dark side of the moon.

Like many others KISS ALIVE II has to be my favorite
Ted Nugent's Double Live Gonzo is a close second
The first Album I ever bought was Michael Jackson's Ben . . . . so it gets honorable mention for that alone . . . .

Tossup between Blue Oyster Cult's "Secret Treaties" and Jethro Tull's "Warchild."

WOW.. Nice selections thus far. I'd say it's a toss-up to:

Wings' "Band On the Run" or "Venus and Mars"
Stones' "Sticky Fingers" or "Exile on Main Street"
George's "All Things Must Pass" and Ringo's "Ringo"

Special merit goes to both Blondie's "Parallel Lines" and the "Story of Star Wars" (the one with the narration and acutal dialog from the movie..).

Anyone actually know whether "Story of Star Wars" is on CD or not..?

I love the Comic Book Heroes album, used to listen to that one all the time. Still would like to get it on cd someday! I've still got my original copy on vinyl thankfully.
