You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return... -

I'd kill to place those next to my Galaga...I'd practically have a full arcade going on...

Galaga is a very close second, but I spent many a quarter on the original Donkey Kong. Definitely has to be my number one.Comment

Hector, I would take Galaga over Donkey Kong Jr. anyday, but I came across it and the price was right. It's up on my list too just not as high as say Ms. Pacman, Galaga, or even the original Donkey Kong.
One question, don't you worry about rain or other conditions affecting your machine? Probably have nicer weather in general in Oakland.Comment

Let's see..
1-Ms. Pac-Man
2-Galaga
3-Centipede
3-Donkey Kong
4-Donkey Kong Jr.
5-Frogger
6-Final Fight (a little later on as it came out tin 1989)
7-Robotron 2084
9-Bubble Bobble
8-Spy Hunter
9-Root Beer Tapper
10-Popeye
11-Jungle King/Hunt
12-Space Inavaders
13-Karate Champ
13-Asteroids
14-Tron
15-Discs of Tron
16-Joust
17-Dig Dug
18-Mr. Do
19-Gauntlet
20-Smash TV
Unfortunately other than the standard Ms.Pac-Man/Galaga combo, I don't see many of these around in the few remaining arcades. I was pretty psyched to find remaining mall arcade a few years back that had a Donkey Kong/DK Jr/Mario Bros combo machine. Edit: This machine (as well as a Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga) is actually located in the Menlo Park Mall mentioned on Page 3 in Hulk's response. It's a small world as they say!Last edited by VintageMike; May 23, '10, 10:25 PM.Comment

The temperatures year round are pretty constant in the Bay Area...not too hot, not to cold.
Plus I have a custom vinyl cover...mainly for the neighborhood cats that keep showing up uninvited.
So no...we don't get tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, hail, snow, etc...but we do have one mean thing once in a blue moon...earthquakes...

...but why is Defender not listed?
That game absolutely rules...I know it didn't have fancy colored graphics...but the game play was rocking badazz...that's why it's my number two classic arcade game after Galaga...

Hector and Evil KMego clearly have excellent taste in their video and pinball games
For actual arcade games my favorites were Centipede, Millipede, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Mrs. Pac Man, Tron, Star Wars, Frogger, and Space Invaders. I also recall playing the arcade version of the Journey video game alot at the local 7-11! (Hey I was a big Journey fan).
Also, I was particularly a fan of the sit-down cocktail table versions of games like Centipede and Space Invaders. If I ever bought these for my home, chances are those would be the versions I'd go for.
For the 2600 home system, my faves were Yar's Revenge, Adventure, Kaboom!, Pitfall, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Demon Attack, and Haunted House (yeah, I know....it was fun when I was 9!)
Someday I'll own the KISS pinball machine, I want that soooo bad!Comment
