A sequel. This will involve the son of Steve McGarrett. Could be fun. I like the fact they will write it as a continuation of the original. It will be interesting to see how they explain the demise of Jack Lord's character.
Sacriledge, I tell you! Using that lame copy of the theme song! I predict this will meet the same fate as the "new" Bionic Woman.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
Go, Sammy!!!! That pumps me up and I feel like calling up one of my cop buddies and doing a little ride along, now! Look out, Wo Fat!!!
How come there aren't any cool celebs like Sammy, anymore??
DANG! I never even knew this theme had lyrics!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
It certainly wont have the same nostalgia, that 70's climate, I can see this being just another cop drama, with beautiful women and beaches etc. I used to have a friend who looked somiliar to Lords side kick, we always used to shout to him "book'em dano". I read somewhere that Lord became a recluse, because couldnt get to grips with ageing, and wanted to be remembered with his good looks from his hey day.

Actually he developed Alzheimers which basically rendered him incapable of making public appearances. He died from congestive heart failure which is often a secondary condition brought on by Alzheimers. One curious fact most people do not know is that Jack Lord was offered the part of Captain Kirk and turned it down. How interesting it would have been to see Jack Lord as Capt Kirk - "Book'em Spock."
