Same here, I'm not risking my life, or even risk getting into trouble, over something that isn't mine or belongs to a loved one. Bank tellers are told to hand over the money and not be heroes, I'm sure that clerk's boss told him the same thing, but the guy wanted to be a hero and now it backfired on him. And this is exactly why they tell those guys not to interfere

Where did I say THAT in the post you quoted? VVV
VVVV
This thread has gone on real long....and I thought I must've
addressed everything I just said in this post already earlier in the thread,
but I thought I'd jump right back in and "catch up".
the subject matter (as opposed to "I SAID"), I also used the phrase
"CATCH UP" in that post too....
...as in: I thought I had said it all, but then I returned to catch up.
Sorry if I was unclear...and sorry to say that it feels like you're
putting words in my mouth....if that wasn't your intention, I apologize.
this was my stance as well."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I dunno, this just doesn't seem right to me, sigh...

And now this...another bungled raid...I can see why I stopped watching the news :(
Family: 7-year-old shot by police was asleep
(AP) – 4 hours ago
DETROIT — Seven-year-old Aiyana Jones was asleep on the living room sofa in her family's apartment when Detroit police searching for a homicide suspect burst in and an officer's gun went off, fatally striking the girl in the neck, family members say.
Her father, 25-year-old Charles Jones, told The Detroit News he had just gone to bed early Sunday after covering his daughter with her favorite Disney princess blanket when he heard a flash grenade followed by a gunshot. When he rushed into the living room, he said, police forced him to lie on the ground, with his face in his daughter's blood.

And this should please those anti corporal punishment people who think you are going to go around executing everyone accused of murder willy nilly.Comment

The family could still get a really good lawyer (most would do it Pro bono because of the notoriety the trial will bring them) ... and take it to civil court ... Civil courts usually lean towards the victims so they'd probably win -- and CVS has deep pockets.Comment

The family also told the paper that while Kyser has had his share of "ups and downs" and has spent time in prison for drug offenses, his death was unjustified. They plan on suing the CVS chain in civil court.
The Sun-Times also spoke to two witnesses whose homes back onto the alley where the incident took place who say that an off-duty police officer was involved. They claim the woman told Kyser she was an officer, drew her weapon, and told him to stop fighting the CVS employees' attempts to restrain him. She then reportedly went back to her car to make a phone call. Chicago Police spokesman John Mirabelli was quoted as questioning this report, saying that they "have no indication of CPD involvement.""...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

It's also VERY possible that all these articles are just incompetently researched and written.
Based on the information from the first two articles I agreed that there should have been an investigation - which, at least, there was. It goes against my instincts to trust all the facts as they had been given though. Some of the important details were skipped and others just don't seem jive 100% to me - so even if everything written was true, this whole event seemed like it was reported in a sloppy way.Comment

You've obviously never been in a CVS. This is about what I expect there."If you take a dog which is starving and feed him and make him prosperous, that dog will not bite you. This is the primary difference between a dog and a man."
