^ Yeah I wasn't 100% sure on Lost In Space...I do remember though that WOR showed Irwin Allen's Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants for a bit so I assumed that they might have had a syndication package that included LIS. I think they also might have had Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. WOR wasn't as cartoon and sitcom oriented as WNEW or WPIX.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

As a child I watched CBC...
They had some great Kid's Programing back in the 1960's. One show, Razzle Dazzle! starring Suzanne Sommers' husband, Al Hamel, would show segments of great Adventure series. Things like Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, The Magic Boomerang, Sea Spray, and Junior Forest Rangers.
Another was Popcorn Playhouse that aired some great old cartoons. One was a silent cartoon with the endlessly repeating music of Katchurian's Sabre Dance. Over a period of 10 years plus, they must've showed all of the Popeye cartoons as well.
There was a late afternoon movie time as well, called Passport to Adventure hosted by Elwy Yost. Saw all the old classics: King Kong, Lassie, Flicka, The Invisible Man, Mighty Joe Young, and lots of others.Last edited by Joe90; May 11, '10, 8:09 PM.90, Joe 90.... That was Louie The Lifeguard, not Time for Timer.
And Toyroom, Lost in Space was WNEW. Magilla Gorilla was WPIX and yep, Hillarious House was also WNEW at 4pm."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

It is amazing how much time seemed to be in one day when you were a kid. Must sees for me included Electric Company, Sesame Street, Zoom, Star Trek Animated, Ultraman, Kimba, Speed Racer, Deputy Dawg, Yogi Bear, and Looney Tunes. In the late 70's and 80's the other show I really liked on PBS was 3-2-1 Contact. It's all good!Comment

I was a cartoon kid, even though I did my share of Sesame Street, Electric Company, Zoom & Hodge Podge Lodge viewing.
I miss the cartoons they used to play back then. I don't see them ANYWHERE anymore.
Cartoons like Heckle & Jeckle, Mighty Mouse, Prince Planet, really early Warner Bros (not Bugs Bunny, etc)...

Loved Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers and Electric Company when I was a kid.
And, I really wish they'd put out a DVD of all the Time for Timer shorts.Comment

New Zoo Revue
Slim Goodbody (even had his record)
Sesame Street
Electric Company (Sent in stuff to Picture Pages with Bill Cosby and had the Picture Pages activity book mailed from PBS, loved me some Easy Reader, Morgan Freeman as Dracula, and of course, the Spidey segments, I lived for those! Remember the Yeti? He kept sitting on everyone's ice cream to keep his butt cold.)
Mister Rogers (Loved the episode where they visited the set of the Incredible Hulk and showed how they did Lou's makeup)
3-2-1 Contact (is the answer...is the reason...that everything happens contact....let's make contaaaaact....3! 2! 1! CONTACT! Remember the Bloodhound Gang? Whenever there's trouble, we're there on the double...we're the Bloodhound Gang. Gives us a call, we'll give you our allll...we're the Bloodhound Gang...they were like educational Scooby Doo!).
Saturday Morning was when cartoons were king! It was the only day I didn't watch PBS. Remember the special cartoon preview shows they'd come out with each season to show what new cartoons were coming for ABC, CBS, and NBC? Those were the most anticipated programs of the year for me. When we'd get the TV Guide for that week the Friday before I felt like I was getting the ultimate sneak peek when they'd take out a full page ad showing some of the characters for the network debut cartoon specials...lol...
As a testament to our lovely living in BFE we only got three channels very well: CBS (KFVS 12), NBC (WPSD TV 6), and PBS (KET channel 21), we got ABC (WSIL TV 3), but not very well most of the time, until KBSI 23 started broadcasting out of Cape Girardeau, Illinois when I was about 10 then we had all kinds of awesome! Creature Feature, Twilight Zone, Monsters, Tales From The Darkside, I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, Mork and Mindy, Leave it to Beaver, The Brady Bunch...and cartoons in the mornings before school and after school like He-Man, Transformers, GI Joe, Superfriends, Thundercats, etc. KBSI a few years after that became one of the first FOX affiliates.Comment
