        Luv me some 80's metal!
Don't forget Stryper! In God We Trust was one of my favorites . . .
I think Poison would be the Poster Child for this genre
I remember when Grunge hit . . . it was like the radio was playing Whitesnake one day and then poof' they were all gone . . . . a conspiracy that rivals the JFK Assassination

What? No Quiet Riot fans? I didn't really care for hair-metal that was just really poser rock. I did however like bands that were inspired by the likes of Black Sabbath, Kiss, The Doors, Jimmy Hendricks, Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and I could go on. I even love me some, Manowar! It was pop Metal that almost killed things off and I guess it was a good thing when the Grunge scene helped to kill off that poser rock. Real Metal is still there. You just have to search a little harder to find it. By the way, anyone ever hear of a band called Powermad? Ive been trying in vain to find a CD or MP3 of their album "Absolute Power". They have a song on that one called "Nice Dreams", that is really awesome. Too bad that band didn't stay around. The lead vocalists range could probably shatter diamonds!

Some of it. The problem I had with the whole 90's "alternative" thing was that there was a lot of focus on the problems, but not on the solutions. Which doesn't appeal to me. Like I said, I KNOW life sucks. I don't need that part explained. And I'm not much of a joiner; so there's no appeal in feeling like someone else gets it. But a group like Manowar.... their songs are big, overstated, dramatic.... all the stuff missing from my life. I like that. And for me, it rings true 'cos I've had to get through a lot of fights in my life. Sure, I'm not a Viking king; but I know what it's like to face down a desperate, no-win situation.
