How long to boil water until safe ?

Just got a note on my door from the town.
It said water needs to be boiled until further notice because of somekind of broken filter or something.

Anyway, what's the normal time to boil water to make it safe to drink ?

    Thanks

About a min. The min starts when the water begins to bubble.

      Oh ok, good

I kept thinking 10 minutes, but then I thought that can't be right.

      Thanks for the info

How Long Do You Need To Boil Water?

Actually less than a minute. It just needs to reach a rolling boil to kill all pathogens.

In 10 minutes there would be no water left...it will all evaporate...

Adding whiskey should also kill the germs, I think....
Like in: 80% whiskey, 20% water.

Remember to let it cool before drinking :-)

3 days later and they still didn't lift it.
I just called this morning to check.

It will take another 48 hours for the tests to come back.

Then you would just need to breathe the water saturated air, to quench your thirst. Kill two birds with one stone.
