Marriage Ref - Can Hubby Keep his Toy collection?

I heard a blurb about this on the TODAY show.
    Airdate is 4/29/2010 on NBC.
Not sure if there was a post about it yet.

Apparently the husband is a LOTR collector, but TV tends to sensationalize things. Might be a good episode to 'accidentally' miss if you are watching it with your significant other.
    Cheers,

The secret to a healthy marriage... marry a collector.

We both collect different things, yet the things intermingle when it comes to toys.

I make it a point to "accidently miss" the Marriage Ref each and every week.

                    The Toy Collector won out.
Everyone was in favor of the toy collecting husband. The logic being that people need stupid things to occupy their time each day. Thinking about action figures each day is a lot better than a lot of alternatives.

I just finally watched it. while I certainly agree with the descision I will say the guy was a little over the top.
                      .
I got to display my stuff in one room, which was my own to decorate, the room got to be too crowded with other stuff so when I designed the addition to my house last year, I built a 700 Sf mancave which now is where I display things - not everything - but enough. the wife gets to display her Wizxard of Oz and Lucy stuff in the living room. LOL

They should sell that on a bumper sticker and shirts
in every comicbook and collectible shop in the world.

The first time my wife saw my megos and gi joes standing all around my house starring at her she thought I was going to turn her into a lampshade! LOL Now she is cool with it that we are married, she will only let my megos be displayed in our room and when she is mad at me I get home and they are all knocked down or in a box in the corner, like she couldn't do anything to me but she could take out her rage against my megos!! I keep my Trek megos in a large suitcase and she hides it sometimes just to mess with me. Sometimes she gets caught playing with them LOL. Its a Love Hate with her.

I love toys, they're a part of who I am.
Any partner that would make me "amputate" this part of me, doesn't love me for what I am.
My wife has embraced my hobby, even agreeing to three big display cases in the living room. And I don't mind having a dozen teddy bears in my bed.
                              It all balances out....
