Great Day of Estate Selling Again!!!

I wanted to go to a sale first thing this morning, but rolled over and turned off my alarm clock. I wake at 11am and decide to go just to see what was left.

Was not much left but the lady ask me what I was looking for and I tell toys. She gets up and walks to a closet and sys she was not sure if she wanted to sell them or not, but if I wanted them, I can make her an offer. I hate making people offers on stuff I am gonna flip, so I tell her $350 and she takes it.

    The lot consist of:
    1950's Tonka fire tuck (mint)
    1950's Tonka Sportsman (mint)
    1950's NY-Lint Missile Launcher (mint)
4 -1950's Dinky cars (nr mint)
    12 - 1950's Lesney cars (nice condition)
7 - 1950's Tootsie toy cars (nice condition)
2-1940's Cleveland Indians and Brooklyn Dodgers (Dem Bums) rubber mascots

I have to work tonight, so I will get some pictures up later.

I think that Waltham pocket watch you have going is going to tear it up.

That watch is actually my brother's. He paid $100 for it, it it is not much more valuable than that. He is happy he got the $100 bid it has now.

Come to find out, the fire truck above was not the best buy of the lot. There is a Dinky Jaguar that books for $200 - $300, and this thing is pretty much near mint.

I may keep the fire truck.

This was a first for me. The lady sold this stuff to me because my name is Chris and I drive a black Ford Supercrew. These toys came from the estate of a guy named Chris and he drove the same truck.

                            Tactics?

Be nice and be willing to risk the money. I have seen some regular customers throw fits because the door is 5 minutes late to open, or complain about the prices.

Build a bankroll with very little of your money until you are able to move in the higher price items but playing with their money. Ididn't sell the clock, I have $500 into it, but it does not bother me. I have learned ALOT about clocks from this thing, and am sure Iwill recoup most, if not all of my money; but it is not my money, its their money (GI Joe money).

I need to write a book on the people I see at these garage sales and estate sales, now that will be a best seller.
