Tastykake chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate icing & white cream filling. Runners up include T'kake peanut butter Kandy Kakes, butterscotch krimpets, and cream filled coffee cakes.

I was in Philly last weekend and came away with an assortment of 5 family pack boxes of T'Kakes.

I love most of the Hostess cakes and fruit pies, but lately I've been buying alot of Twinkies. Ever since I watched "Zombieland" recently, I've had a terrible craving for Twinkies that forces me to buy them by the box

Yeah, b/c Charlie Brown and friends were on the packages, my dad (who never got this stuff right anyway) called them "Buster Browns".

And yeah, like I said before, no trans fat, no flavor. Hostess cupcakes still tasted pretty good in 1990. I remember the school I worked at had "Hot Dog Day" in the lunch room the last Friday of every month. For $1.50 you could get a milk (plain or chocolate) a hot dog, and a 2 pack of Hostess cupcakes. I was the "milk lady" so I got 'em for free!

                    Snack Cakes

Tough one; I guess I'd have to say Hostess Cupcakes, though I really liked Dolly Madison's (now owned by Hostess) Chocolate Zingers. I also really loved those chocolate-filled cream pies you can never find now, I believe Hostess had them (you'd occasionally find them with the fruit pies) and Dolly Madison as well.

My real favorite, out for all-too brief period of time was Hostess pudding pies. The outside was like the fruit pies but inside was chocolate of vanilla pudding. Also liked Chocodiles (chocolate covered twinkie). Of what's available today I prefer cherry Fruit Pies (drakes and hostess always the same to me, even before they merged into one company).
Haven't had a twinkie or Hostess cupcake in years. Being I'm pretty much a junk-food junkie I think that says something about the quality or lack thereof of those products today.

Yeah, the hostess stuff today doesn't taste close to the wonderful taste of their 70s counterparts. I liked the yellow cake and chocolate zingers back then, too. Also, Yodels. Today, we usually buy a Little Debbie box once in a while, but I do not have a favorite.
                        It's all good!

I'm with you on Chocodiles, but I never liked the pudding pies. I seem to remember the pudding being kind of sharp, like it was spoiled or something...or maybe that was just because I didn't check the expiration dates.
