I loved watching Tarzan: Lord of the Junlge by Filmation. The rotoscoping style of watching Tarzan swinging from tree to tree on those vines along with the music made me want to go out back and swing on trees. I couldn't since there were no vines and the trees were not near each other. Oddly enough, Robert Ridgely, the voice of Tarzan also voiced over both Flash Gordon and Thundarr. Too bad that one's not on DVD officially. All I have are bootlegs. I just wish WB or whoever owns the rights would release the series.
Tarzan ran great in the late 70's along with the New Adventures of Batman,
The Super 7, and eventually, the Lone Ranger and Zorro.
But I loved Tarzan, Thundarr, and Blackstar. I also liked the Space Sentinels after buying the DVD.
Cheers.
Lords of light! where did you find Thundarr on DVD? I just got Defenders of the Earth and Flash Gordon from Target. Blackstar was a STAPLE of my youth, I just found my Trobbit figures! must...have...these! Blackstar was the PRECURSOR to HE-MAN, though the toys were very late to the table.
Well my Blackstarr and Flash Gordon is Official the rest are torrent Bootlegs.HOWEVER, I would by them in a second if they officialy released Thundarr and Tarzan.
Im glad im not the only one who likes these cartoons.
To this day i watch them all the time.
I use to get up at 5:30 and watch the lone Ranger, then all star laugh olympics which put yogi bear and bubu up against the likes of grape ape, and speed buggy, followed by superfriends, and Dungeons and Dragonsand Land of the Lost, ....Saturday morning was for cartoons...right up to 12:00 when Monster Mash came on and I watched Godzilla kick somebodys butt or some other old time monster movie....like "Squirm"....that show freaked me out...
