Okay, I'm not a big Star Wars fan today. But I was 5 when it came out.

I mean I love teh first film but I don't collect anything.

And It is an incredible piece of moviemaking.

I have often looked at it to get ideas for puppet films I have worked on.

    Its a puppet film!

Vader, C3po, Storm troopers, Cantina aliens, R2 D2, Chewbacca, Greedo , Jawas, Sandpeople, Aunt Beru all dubbed like a marionette film.

I watched teh commentary version and was blown away by how much sound effects totally made that film!

It wasn't until about my 50th viewing of it that even noticed any flaws in it. It's a brilliant piece of work in so many ways.

            It's so hard.
How can you compare Close Encounters to Star Wars? Or Mad Max Road Warrior?
All fantastic movies, but so different in style.
It's like picking between a donut and spaghetti.

I'd have to go for the obvious, then.
Star Wars 1977. A life changer....

If I have to pick only one, it's "The Greatest Story Ever Told" starring Max Von Sydow.

Well, I WILL say I have two of the more, um.., explicit scenes from that movie on my iPod.

As a gentleman, I will say no more..

PS: I guess for 'life-changing' movies (not necessarily your 'favorite', as asked..), Star Wars, followed by 'Help!' (Beatles) would be there.
                Such a difficult question.

"Star Wars" is definitely among my tops.

I have always had a soft spot for campy '80s comedies, and top among them is "Real Genius".

And I am shocked there has been no love for "Pulp Fiction".

But my favorite movie has to be "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", the 1971 classic starring Gene Wilder. Can't tell you how many times I have watched that. Always make me feel like a kid again.

I'm glad we got Willy Wonka on the list. Another great movie.

Pulp Fiction is probably my favorite right now...but I listed Star Wars...because it had far more impact and influence over me when I first saw it as a young teen.
