My favorite was Fireball X-L5 - thermos is long gone but I still have the box!

Too bad you still don't have it. That's one of the most valuable lunch boxes around.

I don't know lunchbox prices (haven't collected in a while) but the box itself was selling in the $600+ range and the thermos about $250. Not bad for a box and thermos eh?

For me, nothin' beats MARVEL/DC lunchboxes from the 70s/80s
....always liked the DUKES one too.

This was the only lunchbox I ever had when I was a kid:

I was mainly a brown bagger

I can say that looking back on it I used to envy the kids that had the Planet Of The Apes Lunchboxes. These days I am still looking for the Yellow Submarine Lunch Box with Thermos. I had a chance a while back to pick one up at an antique store that looked like it was never used...for $200. I passed it up and when I went back it was gone...and to make things worse the guy at the counter said that the Lunch Box had the Thermos inside
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                        The beauty that surrounds them
                        Isn't it a pity".

The one thing I remember about that thermos is it had a glass liner. I dropped my lunch box in either 1st or 2nd grade and the liner broke.
