    Peter Criss- One For All

Kiss fans! The new release from former KISS drummer, Peter Criss.
Um, just a word of warning. Do not buy this CD thinking you are going to hear classic Peter Criss- Kiss style music.

What you get is a CD filled with "beth type" songs. Ballads, snoozers, sleepers, mellow or whatever you call it.
If you can pick up this CD knowing it's not going to be KISS and expecting something else maybe you'll like it. I don't know. Maybe I need to listen to it more.
I can't get past the cover of, "Send in the Clowns." huh?

Trust me, you won't be able to get this CD at the local Exclusive Company. They never even put it in stock. I had to order it.

If any KISS fans want some mp3s of the CD, let me know. I understand if you are not brave enough to buy it.

Some fan took the main cut off there and made a slide show on youtube. You can at least hear the single he put out from the CD as it plays in the slideshow.

Am I to understand there is no drumming on this record? I like Peter's voice and all -- Hard Luck Woman is one of my all-time favorite songs, esp. the live version on ALIVE II -- but if I ever bought one of his solo records it would be to hear some drum-playin'... even if it's slow and soft.

There is about maybe 45% drumming on this CD. Most of the songs have a big band or orchestra behind them.

Doesn't surprise me...I thought his solo LP back in the day was the weakest in the set.

Weird. I'd have to listen to it first before buying. I like orchestral rock, and ballads, etc., when I hear them but I tend not to buy music of that sort. Although, there is some of that kind of stuff on 1981's The Elder, and I really dig that underrated KISS record. Anyway, thanks for the heads up!

I agree that his solo effort with Kiss sucked. Ace's was the Best. I do however like Peter but would never think of getting this CD.

Hey a KISS thread here! At Mego Museum!

                  Dang---and I don't have much to say---

other than I wouldn't go near this release with a 10 foot cat tail--

-Peter is a part of KISS' history, which I respect, but his new releases
ain't on my priority list so to speak

Wow, I thought I was the only one who was gonna follow Pete's solo cd LOL.
I actually special ordered it and had it the week it came out.
                    Now, let me first say this;
                    1) I am a KISS fan at heart for over 20 years.
                    2) I don't like 100% of KISS material
                    3) Yes, Pete's '78 solo lp was laid back, but I really enjoyed most of it.
                    4) Had Pete's solo lps from the early 80's and they too were the same direction with only a couple snappy tunes on each.

Now this new one. I bust it open, put it in the truck's player and listened to it for a couple days. Guys....and I really like Pete...but this cd is baaaad.
It will probably never see a laser again as long as I am alive baaaad.

Now, Paul Stanley released a solo cd back in late '06, Live to Win. It is full of really good, better than KISS tunes. Good Rock cd that I have enjoyed over and over and over and still ain't tired of it yet.

edit: Forgot to mention that Paul's, Live to Win cd has even hooked my wife and daughter. They both like some of the tunes and my daughter even put one on her MySpace page. That in itself spoke volumes to me about Paul's impact and talent....my daughter would never put a KISS song onher MySpace page LOL

Ace Frehley supposedly has a solo cd coming out soon doesn't he??

                      Ha Ha Ha
Yes, someone agrees. I just didn't want to be the lone ranger when it came to saying this CD is bad. Glad to see it wasn't me.

Paul Stanley's latest effort, "Live to Win" hasn't left my CD player. I Love it!

Gene Simmon's new CD, I can't say the title of the CD without expecting a rude offline from the moderator in my private messages. But the CD is filled with good songs and tunes that just plain suck. So it kind of rides the fence with me.

Ace Frehley has been working on a new CD for ten years now. I think we'll have a better chance seeing the release of Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy CD then we will Ace Frehley's long awaited solo effort.

I like Peter's mellow approach on his solo albums, didn't know he had another one coming. I know Paul and Gene had a solo album but hadn't gotten it yet.

I will always associate Paul's song, "Live To Win" to the fantastic South Park episode "World Of Warcraft". South Park used "Live To Win" over a montage of the boys getting bloated and pimply spending all thier time online at the Warcraft game trying to defeat a rouge player.

                            Yep, they are heavy.

Gene said there is a new KISS CD in the works set for late 2008 release.

                            KISS, meaning the current lineup...

                            Paul Stanley- Lead vocals, guitar;
                            Gene Simmons- Bass guitar
                            Tommy Thayer- Lead Guitar
                            Eric Singer- Drums

Wrathdemon, does Tommy Thayer wear the Space-Ace make-up the way Eric Singer wears the Cat make-up? I've always thought it a bit odd that Singer didn't develop his own character the way Carr and Vincent did back in the day.
