Can I rant about the marketplace for a second?

The figure was out of the country which the shipper actually responded to my pm's and showed the customs declaration form. The cards and poster, I never heard from them.
Were the cards from me? I was going to ship a couple of PS cards to somebody and I guess I deleted the PM so I have no idea who they were for. If it was you let me know...

I have had a few sales in the Marketplace and I hesitated about shipping outside the US but my reason was mainly because I have to go to the Post Office during business hours and they are open when I am at work and the only one that's open later is way out of my way. I prefer to use the self-serve kiosk after hours. I did ship some stuff to Canada with no problems but it was a bit of a hassle due the reasons I stated above.
As for the "I pm'd first" thing. Yeah, sometimes that just isn't the way it works. It's worked against me when trying to get some items as well as the other way around when i was selling stuff. If there's someone who I know a lot better and they want something that someone else asked first about I will probably try to take care of my friend first. Now if I already answered the pm I would not go back on my word.

my two cents on the PM thing:

It also depends on what you say to the seller. For example in the posting anyone can easily say "PM sent". However that PM sent might say something like this:

"can you send me more info I was curious about such and such, and if this info checks out I will purchase the item"

while others who send after you might PM with this:

"Let me know exactly how much it is and the money will be wired right over"

That is a bit of a difference and it is something that will make a difference. Sending a PM first is not the issue, more so it is what/how you actually speak to the seller.

I had two experiences on the marketplace as a seller and buyer with timing issues

the first time I was selling some model kits. I had one guy (who will remain nameless) who seemed to want these very much, but he kept saying "I'll send over a money order". Then it turned into he had a family issue it might take a little longer. That was fine but nearly two months later (then again it might
have been slightly longer than 2 months. For some reason I am recalling it being closer to three) still nothing. At this point I said to hell with it and found another person to sell them to. I told the original buyer this info and that if he did send the MO I would only return it to him. I mean if things happen I understand, but if it just gets to the point where you are not going to buy something then PLEASE DO NOT BE afraid to tell the seller this. Most of US will then just simply find someone else. Curiously enough I have not seen this person on the board since then

the second time was me as a buyer. I had to wait nearly a month before the item came in. This person did have family issues and made a posting about it. I am understanding to a certain degree , but regardless of the situation if someone sends you some decent money for something that you posted about, it should not take close to a month to get it

about shipping overseas: Like many I do not trust overseas postal systems but I still ship intenrationally regardless. Depending on what it is (like castle grayskull for example) Global priority will cost an arm and a leg but can be tracked as well as EMS shipping and worth it for those larger items. However the cost of shipping in those cases can cost 2-3 times more than the actual item itself
