The instant this guy started trying to make it look like your fault I would've collapsed to the ground and started holding my neck. I did this once to a lady that pulled out of a parking lot into a 4 lane divided highway without even looking. Fortunately for her I didn't broadside her right in the drivers door, but as I swerved around her she actually t-boned me in the passenger door. She screamed at me the whole time we waited for the police to arrive of how I hit her and I was in big trouble. When the officer arrived he almost busted out laughing at her. He asked her if my car was going sideways cuz that's the only way her claim was going to hold up. Then she brought up a family member on the police force and how he would need to be called to help her out, which ended up being unfortunate because my grandfather was the captain at the time and I told her he would not be happy to know that one of his officers was fixing accidents for his relatives when they were at fault. She almost crapped her depends when I dropped that little bit of info. Just to be an *** I then started to mention how my back was sore and my neck was a little stiff, and maybe I should be taken to the hospital for some tests. This lady was jaw to the ground crapping her undies. The cop knew I was just busting her chops for being a jerk and I never did go to the hospital. She did apologize to me and admitted it was her fault, but I found out later it was only because she asked the officer if she could be sued for damages and he told her I would have a pretty strong case if I did and her acting the way she did wasn't helping the matter. Since she was determined at fault her insurance paid for everything, including some stuff they assumed was from the accident that was already damaged so I just let it go. She was so cocky when she thought she was in charge, but the look on her face was as they say priceless when it all fell apart. Unfortunately I had no MM cards in the back seat so there was no raining effect. Would've been cool though.

Sorry to hear about your accident.

Make sure you go see a doctor immediately if you start feeling back or shoulder pain.

I was in an accident about 3 years ago, out on the highway during a big rain storm, traffic came to a sudden halt and the lady behind me smashed into me at about 50-60 mph. I was in a small commuter mobile and immediately felt some pain in my shoulder (from the seat belt) and back. 2 days later I'm at the doctor's office because I can barely move. I had to be taken in for x-rays to make sure there weren't any broken bones or anything.

Ended up going to Physical therapy two or three times a week for 3 or 4 months and racked up about $8,000 in medical bills.

I did hire a lawyer and was reimbursed for my medical bills and lost time from work. I went through a lot of pain in those months and we ended up not going to court over it because my state generally doesn't award pain and suffering damages for an accident of this nature.

The downside is my back encounters major spasms anytime I am doing anything that requires lifting anything heavy or even playing sports. It bothers me to know that I am probably going to be living the rest of my life like this but I hope you don't experience the same thing.

For now, go with the Ibuprofen to help with the inflammation and I used Icy/Hot or any kind of muscle rub unless you need to see a doctor. I was on some major pain meds that I could not take until bed time because it would knock me out cold.

CRIPES Brian! I'm glad you are OK and no one was hurt! I'm sorry to hear your good day turn bad so quickly. I hope the repair/insurance process goes smoothly for you.

Ouch. Glad to hear it wasn't more serious, and accidents always ruin your day, but how come they always seem to happen when you're having a good one?

I bagged an 11 point buck on the first day of Hunting many years ago... with my Nissan Altima. Needless to say a couple of loser hunters who were hunting in a restricted area come bounding out of the woods, barely concerned with the fact that I was in a car with the hood smashed in, stumbling out of it practically into oncoming traffic. They were more concerned with whether I would allow them to take the thing home or whether I wanted to keep it for myself. It amazed me when people's first thoughts aren't for someone's health but their own personal agenda. These schmucks probably chased the thing into traffic. The kicker, it was my birthday.

Take care of yourself for a couple days, these things tend to get worse over the next day or so.

That's disheartening Paul. There are some screwed up people in this world. And on your birthday???!! Sheesh, I see what you mean about these things happening on "good" days. I bet all the people mentoned your birthday to you too like the cops, insurance agent, etc. when they looked at your ID...as if you want them to notice at that point to begin with.
