    ---Red Dawn talk

One of my guilty pleasures is loving the movie Red Dawn

I just heard they're doing a remake set to be released in late 2010 ...
Since there's no more Soviet Union, the new bad guys is going to be China

I hate to admit this, but i'm looking up to seeing it

    BTW,
A special thanks to England, China and Canada for sticking with us in the first movie

My buddies and I spent a whole summer watching that movie on VHS a couple of times a week. Good stuff and at the time it had an all-star cast that rivaled the cast of The Outsiders. Come to think of it...several of the cast from The Outsiders were in Red Dawn (and a sibling of one was in the other).

A remake would need some serious updating because the plot of the original was easily believed and bought into because all we our or parents ever heard about was the Soviet Union. Who would it be this go-around? The Chinese? Aliens?

              Red Dawn (2010)

Just noticed Tom Cruise's (who was in The Outsiders) adopted son Conner is listed in the cast for the remake playing the role of weasel Daryl.

I am not looking forward to a remake as most of the remakes turn out to be utter trash.

This time around, it's the Chinese that invade.

Red Dawn is one of those movies that still catch my attention anytime it's rerun on TV. I remember this seeming so plausible to my 16 year old mind.
Truth be told anything is possible in this world, Who would of thought of China/Russia supporting hackers to infiltarte our countries secrets?

Maybe I'm naive/paranoid but I too think something like this could happen...
hate to admit it tho'...it's a damn scary thought.

The Soviet Union went away, but many of the old guard are still around. They still have their dreams and if one thinks they aren't stinging at our light-regard for them....well one would be deluded in that thought.

The Chinese have always had the will and numbers, but until recently, they were poor and backwards technology-wise. The speed at which they closed the economic and technology gaps is stupefying.

                            Loved the movie.
                            Will definitely check the re-make.

Wow I don't now but the man but damn the original scared me when I was a little kid. Made me wonder if that would ever happen....you never know a remake would be cool but usually they kill them.
