Why would China invade its biggest consumer market? Seems like it would only serve to destroy their own economy. Or maybe its more of a repo situation, calling in the loans made to us.

Why not invade? China is making moves into Africa and many failed or nearly failed nations for resources. The Chinese need space to grow. If the future enviromental forcasts are correct about China running out of water and resources. I can't see that many people willing to lie down and die. They are going to go somewhere ask the Dali Lama.

I can see China invading its neighboring countries a lot quicker than anywhere else - especially the USA .........Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia would be first on their list.

They wouldn't touch the Philippines because they know invading the Philippines is as good as attacking the USA.
Same with Japan and Korea

I hope the writing is strong not just reling on effects alone. Lot of good plot themes, family, friends, underdog, brothers, combat ect.
Another good story element is trying to figure what has happened in the middle of the chaos and how to survive. Will Bear Grils show up?

Oh man I love this movie. and kind of looking forward to the remake

one thing that gives me peace of mind if something would ever happen in real life ... we'd at least know they're coming ... no surprises during class lol. I'd hop into my Torino ... load the trunk full, and head to the woods lol lol.

Here's the set-up

For some stupid reason the USA p'sses Belgium off (or any European country)

This leads to p'ssing off all of that country's allies ... basically 2/3rds of the world -- especially the European Union.

Canada sides in with the EU --- which is not impossible

All of a sudden the USA is left alone in the world with only a few fair weather friends.
