I'm glad The Cove won for Best Documentary as well.

I think Sam Rockwell should've been at least nominated for Best Actor for Moon...he was fantastic.

Up will NOT win Best Picture...but will EASILY win Best Animated Feature.

Avatar will win special-effects...and the rest of the technical categories.

As much as I love my girl Penelope Cruz...she's not going to win Best Supporting Actress.

She was in a horrible musical (9)...and she just recently won an Oscar.

I think Monique will get it.

I personally would love Inglourious Basterds and Tarantino to win everything...but it's not...however...if Christoph Waltz doesn't win...then I'm going to kill either a puppy or a kitten....

        Congrats, Hector...right on the money...

Dude, you nailed it, nice one!

I too wish that "Basterds" won some more, but am happy that Christoph won for Supporting Actor, he truly deserved it.

Good to see Bridges win finally. That's all I cared about. Don't care for the rest but my girlfriend wants to watch so we have our week booked watching movies at home. Never got around to watching that movie.
            Gonna watch it right now.

I can't stand watching those buffoons anymore. I used to watch it every year but let's just leave it at buffoons because I don't want to start an argument.
I usually try to just watch the "In Memoriam" segment and missed it this year (forgot it was on) but I just caught it on youtube.
They shafted Farrah!! Didn't even include her on the list! I'm pretty sure she made more movies than Michael Jackson (who was included).

Sorry but that woman is not attractive to me at all.

I think Tarantino really was in touch with "reality" with his thoughts on IB
and that's hard to believe cause what real sucessful director really is that
                    aware of reality....right?

Anyways, for years QT has said that IB was his 'masterpiece" (even way
before filming started) and I agree.

QT also said that Waltz carried most of the movies success (I'm paraphrasing)
...and I agree with THAT too.

Good to see Waltz win. Cheers to CW and QT!

I did not see Inglorious Basterds. And it is probably a reasonably well-made film (by all accounts). But I just cannot bring myself to go and see it.

I liked Quentin Tarantino's first film Resevoir Dogs.

But ever since Pulp Fiction (which I consider to be one of the most offensive films ever made), and ever since Tarantino's Oscar acceptance speech where he felt the need to announce that he needed to go urinate... I have been majorly put off by the man and his work.

I am not now, nor have I ever been amused by the kind of cynicism that Tarantino and his films represent.

As much as I am a pretty different mind from yourself (not entirely) on QT
....I certainly understand your feeling because he is undeniably a
polarizing figure that releases extreme movies.

IB is certainly "more of the same" from the "better thought out" side of QT--

-but, in the end, it IS "more of the same", eh? And it's hard to
convince someone that IB is a good watch if they are down against QT.

All I can say is, I found IB to be masterful in suspense, surprises,
"poetic moments", action...and most charmingly.... humor.

And having the Nazis as the "bad guys" was a slick approach
to modern cinema---for many reasons I won't go into now.

                        That's it for now----heh.

Totally zoned it was even on.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Quentin Tarantino friggin' rules...my fourth favorite modern era director after Martin Scorcese, Clint Eastwood, and Steven Spielberg...also add Ridley Scott into the mix.
