    Crawdad's here.

On the farm (in southern Indiana), where my parents still live, there is a creek. When I was a kid, you could go down to the creek and these Crawdad "mounds" (not sure what they are called) were along the banks. Often, you could find a a Crawdad coming out of one or in close promixity.

No one calls them crawdaddys here in Louisiana (maybe a restauran called Crawdaddy's, but they serve crawfish).

As for the taste, they have a taste all their own. They are not stringy like lobster tail meal, and probably alittle sweeter than shrimp. We cook them in so much spices, I don't know if I really could tell you what a plan crawfish tail taste likes.

South Louisiana has crawfish farms all over the place (rice patties/crawfish patties)

Crayfish - I saw a show with Gorden Ramsey, what ever you call them they seem to have invaided the UK. The ones he got to cook over there where huge larger than the ones we catch here because they don't have to fight for there food as much as over here.

Crayfish here but I've heard them referred as all three.

I will eat them but I prefer lobster.

They taste like chicken...lol No their not bad at all. We would get some beers and go fishing and catch them and cook them up in a can of beer while we fished. But remeber I'm a hillbilly I eat frogs too ..lol Snapping turtle is also good eating. Nasty things but they sure make good soup.

I wish that I can eat this stuff but will break out in hives and die like my last visit to Bonanza years back.
