I think a local show who's theme is to debunk paranormal claims wouldn't be too good and border on a comedy.

Who are you going to get as an expert ? ... the local crazy guy who lives in that '74 stationwagon that's parked behind the Target ?

I'm not arguing... actually the show I did with the paranormal proved (from a production stand point) that the concept leads to a very limited availability of viable investigations either pro or con. For instance with the shows that i produced there were only three that were really spooky and some very interesting things occurred. The others I had to pull my own teeth to make them flow and have any kind of "payoff" for the audience.

While I too would like to see a Mythbusters approach o the subject, the time that it would take to put together even a six episode series let alone 13 is very impractical due to the nature of the subject. Notice how those guys haven't tackled the subject either. Don't believe they haven't thought about it.

Plus one of the other things to take in to consideration is the audience... here's where I might offend sorry if I do... skeptics while also very solid in their beliefs don't get so bent out of shape if you debunk their beliefs. There in lies the problem with some of the folks (it is a small minority) that take the paranormal stuff to an extreme that can be very dangerous. And considering that this is intended for a local audience it can get real ugly really quick.

Penn & Teller's show was just a loudmouth diatribe. Mythbusters has been on for years now.

Hey Jim - sorry, I wasn't trying to argue either. I was just trying to figure out how the production would be that much different. When you mentioned paranormal shows I assumed you had a format that worked since you said you were thinking of going back and redoing that kind of show. Maybe I misunderstood. I was just trying to suggest a twist on the same idea.

I've never seen the Mythbusters guys deal with any supernatural claims but dealing with practical day-to-day myths seems to be part of the show's m.o. more than something they avoid because of the difficulty. It just seems like a different format altogether.

It's surprising for me to think that even the most die-hard ghost enthusiast (for example) would believe every claim. I'm not saying the show's total perspective needs to dismiss EVERYTHING supernatural - it would be a case to case examination. And I'm certainly not trying to suggest you insult people. In any case I'm not trying to argue you into doing the show or something, I was just confused!

Honestly, that makes no senses to me. Anyone who's graduated high-school should be able to go through the motions of the basic 7 steps of the scientific method.

I got ya... I did that with the first one and it does work (the format). What I put together was three separate investigations at the same locations. The formula went like this... Investigation 1 is blind, no knowledge on he plae other the folks said it was haunted... Investigation 2 is when some historical rsearch has been done and Investigation 3 was the "proof positive round" where the findings from the first two were retested to see if it would happen again. While getting things to respond on cue is impossible it was interesting the way the whole thing played out 1, 2, 3.

I've got pieces of the show up on my uou tube channel: loneproducer if you want to check 'em out. You gotta go a page or two deep to get to them....

Call For Help? That's what I was thinking of,something along the lines of that. Have it like how that show was. Explain tech stuff without getting too technical.

Man...I do't know what else to say.

I also have sleep apnea...but that cpap machine has been a blessing...it took away my snoring and sleepness...now I'm fully alert in the day...never get drowsy...as a matter of fact...I need very little sleep now...with about five-six hours of sleep...I'm good...I'm up most of the night at the computer or watching movies...lol.

I'm at a loss why you can't take a cpap machine.

Perhaps it's all in your mind?

You should give it another chance.

See... not only do I gain insight into what folks would like to see on TV, encouragment comes from those who suffer from similar medical woes. I'm telling you fellows and girls this is the greatest place on the net. Period.

                            Thinking out loud:

                            - Man in the street improv comedy. Stick a camera in peoples' faces and ask them to be funny for 3 minutes. Throw away 90% of the footage.

                            - Amatuer Iron Chef. Ambush people in the grocery with a few pounds of (shrimp, beets, peanut butter, whatever). Then go back to their houses and have them cook 4 dishes with the ingredient.

                            - Local Antiques Roadshow. Have people show their heirlooms (not nec. valuable) and tell the stories behind them. I have an old sea chest & family bible from some ancestors who were whalers; most died at sea.

                            - 1970s kid programming. A couple people put on costumes, do crafts, tell stories & introduce cartoons.

(I want a cut if any of these hit it big.)
