Laurence actually did some music for the later Brady productions in the 80s, plus backs up his wife's little local band with two other wives. Way Cool.

I'm a drummer. So, i usually do not comment much on guitarists, since I cannot play guitar. You guys mention a lot of great ones. The only one I'd like to add is Robbie Krieger.

Lawrence Juber, from McCartney's last line up ('78-'80). I don't have any access to Youtube here, but just look him up, doing standards like 'All of Me' and others. Plays lots of different styles, and married to Sherwood Schwartz's daughter (a babe..!!).

Listen to his wonderful solos to 'Wonderful Christmastime' and 'Goodnight Tonight' (the live versions are even better..), did very well on "Let It Be" on tour as well.

Did years of session work for all the greats.

WHO could play spanish guitar like him..?? Not Many.

If anyone (old enough..) remember's his appearance on the 'Odd Couple', he did a magnificent Spanish piece for Tony and Jack at the end of the episode.

Breathtaking... I saw him once in concert back in the '80s. Very good, old fashion entertainer, one hell of a guitar player.

Oh, and DITTO on Buddy Guy. I saw him open for the Stones when they came around a few years back. Delicious blues guitar player.., clearly one of the best..

Unfortunately this is really not a definitive "Best ever" type of thing. It's the same when someone says who's the best ever baseball player etc. Too many musical genres to say who the greatest guitarists are. I can tell who my favorites are:

1) Eric Clapton...IS GOD as the album cover says. Man can play almost any kind of guitar...Acoustic, Jazz, Power Pop, Blues, Rock...you name it he can play it. I can say that if you've never seen him live...do it before he stops touring. I regret not having seen him on last years tour with Winwood. I've seen him on every tour since '85/'86. In my opinion the Greatest guitarist EVER.

Plus,now he plays a mean cell phone. Oh and I'll throw in a name he brings up in the ad:Buddy Guy.
