LIB is great movie and I guess I'm one of the few that enjoys the Get Back/Let It Be project and the undertakings. There is rumor that it was suppose to be released and remastered with bonus material but was again held back. Might be copyright issues.

I agree with the LD but the only thing is the resolution is not clear. It's a step up from VHS but not Beta. Beta is far more clear than LD as long as you have clear source. We get Beta tapes from music labels with videos that are pretty clear but the audio is sub-par due to poor compression and mastering levels. We've used LD discs as source for a while but released how low the resolution is so we stopped using it and went to DVDs, Beta or digital files.

Anyway, I would love to see LIB on DVD with the Glyn Johns 3 versions of Get Back.

Rumors I had heard about Let It Be is that Macca doesn't want it released...don't really blame him. Let It Be doesn't really make him look good if you know what I mean...the disagreement with George about how he wants the guitar bit played, and George tells him flat out "I'll play what you want or I won't play at all" just makes Paul look bad...like he was taking charge and they didn't want him to. I know and you know that it's a fact but as long as the next generation doesn't see it...his image is still in tact.

BTW...another DVD that's out of print...Yellow Submarine. That will probably change after Disney's live action/Computer re-make comes out. Probably end up being re-issued on DVD in about 2 or 3 years.

I wish they'd release that Shatner as a priest on an airplane horror movie from the 70's -- I forgot the title.

          NEAT!

          So many good ideas, like:

-Tales of the Gold Monkey. I haven’t seen it in decades, but I did love it when it was on.
-Logan’s Run TV. Same here. (I’d like to see the 4 unaired episodes too!)
-The Phoenix. Another one I loved as a kid.... but I’m not sure how I’d feel now.
-The Highwayman. I remember thinking it was horrid when it was on.... but it was a cool idea. (I’d be tempted by a remake.)

          Stuff I’d like to see:

          -Max Headroom
          -SWATKats
          -Thundarr the Barbarian
-The “Astro vs Atlas” episode of the 80's Astroboy.

          >which made me realize how many cartoons have never been available,

Funny thing; back in the 90's most of the old cartoons were bought by different companies who all sat on them, waiting for “the next big thing.” So a lot of them are either forgotten, or tied up by companies that want INSANE fees to release ‘em. Over the last few years the rights have been reverting, and I think that’s why we’ve seen so many odd shows released in digital format lately; regardless of a disk release. (Such as “Rocket Robin Hood” being shown on cable.)

          >The 67 Fantastic Four and Marvel Toons

Yeah; like the ‘67 Fantastic Four; which is on Teletoon Retro now.

          >Nelvana has never released unedited versions of some of their classic short films, like "The Devil and Daniel Mouse".

A lot of ‘em came out on tape. “The Devil and Daniel Mouse” is an extra on the special edition “Rock and Rule.” As is the original version of the film. (Get the Special Edit!)

          >They only released the first half of the Champions single season on dvd and the first set wasn't widely available

Scroll down to the second point. I wonder if THAT had anything to do with it?

I have yet to find an easy way to convert a PAL DVD to NTSC, it's usually a PITA for me. How do you do it?

With VHS it was easy. I had a multi system VCR that could handle NTSC, PAL and SECAM tapes and I just hooked up a NTSC VCR to it.

              Yeah, definitely Batman.

The second season of The Champions.

Season 2 and 3 of One Step Beyond.

Boris Karloff's Thriller (coming soon, I hear).

              The Green Hornet.

And of course, The Beatle's Saturday Morning Cartoon. I'd like to see this redone McFarlane style in CGI with correct Liverpudlian accents. The surviving Beatles and family could use it to promote various causes and to reintroduce The Beatles catalogue to a whole new generation.

I've heard doubts about the release of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea season 4 vol 2. I'd like to get the final volume.

We use MACs only and from what I found out last week at the SMPTE meeting and Microsoft Studios, they too use MACs for videos. HA!

So if you are on a mac, rip the disc with Mac the Ripper, the best! Then DL MPEG Streamclip and play the VOB file that contains the movie complete and make sure to fixe the breaks. Export to desired output and pic PAL.
Once you have the .mov file in PAL, you can transcode with STREAMCLIP to NTSC or PRORES and burn to disc.
We do most of the transcoding from Final Cut Pro to Compressor but you can use QuickTime as well.

I heard that rumor as well and yes, LIB is all about Macca but I have to admit, this songs are great, the UnSpectorized versions of his songs are beautiful. Hence why I like LIB Naked and the Get Back albums. Oh well, I guess when he's gone, Sony/ATV with raid the vaults and release what they can to make money.

YS is OOP? I still see it at the local record stores on the shelves. Must be last stock.
Glad I got my copy then. Would love to see YS in Blu-Ray.

Oh yeah, Magical Mystery Tour I would like to see on DVD. I've see it listed on some store sites but I assume those are pirate copies made in EU. The ones I saw at Suncoast looked so fake.

Uhhhhhhhh, the only thing not released was unfilmed, I've read the scripts and they are good and I wish the same but the network aired all shows, at least on the east coast. I wish there were unaired shows.

I hate when they release new TV shows that only aired like 6 months ago on DVD and they still haven't released old shows ... And i'm not talking about shows with a controversial rights background like Batman 1966 ... I mean just regular shows.

It's crazy to me that a best picture nominee like "Secrets & Lies" would be so neglected.

It seems like a few of the movies that came out in that 90s transition period from VHS to DVD have a tough time getting re-released. I wish a few more of Mike Leigh's movies would get the Criterion treatment like "Naked" did.

And with the internet, it's very easy to buy releases from other countries. Why limit yourself to domestic releases when there's so much more available in the rest of the world.
You have a point. Every time I go through a stack of old DLs I find a copy of "Secrets & Lies". To me region 1 discs get the best transfer treatment and special features, so I'd prefer to buy them. Anytime I buy a DVD and a better version comes out it makes me a little crazy - it's bad enough that I'm probably going to switch to Blu-Ray at some time.

To be honest I don't care how good a movie like "I Come In Peace" looks, I just hate the Euro-version of it because it's called something stupid like "Dark Angel" and 50% of the reason I love that movie is because of it's title!
