New American Idol Judge?!

I just heard that Howard Stern is Fox's top pick to replace Simon Cowell next season on American Idol! Talk about trying to hit a grand slam on your first swing!

My only question is - couldn't they think of someone more controversial?

He and Ellen will be driving the ratings through the roof with their bickering

Stern is a very Huge Fan of that show ...
He talks about it, and always has pretty regulary on his show..., and when I listened got made fun of, when he did.

Not that I really Watch ...
But can he even be or want to be the ****** Simon is ?
And what does He even Know about Music that he would even really qualify ? ... I think the show might drop in rating's ...., this is a "Jump the Shark" Moment imo.

This show is barely watchable now with all the damn time-filler and bickering crap between the judges.

If that no-talent hack Howard Stern is brought in to judge... a man who has ZERO qualifications to adequately judge / launch the singing career of a young hopeful... then I am done.

His replacement of Simon Cowel would be the height of cynicism and mediocrity in what was once a good TV show.

Couldn't this same description of a judge be applied to Paula Abdul? I wouldn't call her qualifications anywhere near being a real judge as to what could launch a career.

Paula Abdul definitely had the least experience of the three but she at least has somewhat of a musical background and can at least pinpoint slight singing problems that we probably don't notice.

Ellen has no singing background at all and neither does Howard Stern. I like the guy and maybe it makes for good ratings but I would think you can only get away with one judge without a music background of which Paula Abdul was the least qualified.

People have called Stern a no talent hack his whole life, yet never fails to produce. Single handily saves Sirius Radio and made XM merge. People said that 500 mill he got was ridiculous, yet he paid for himself the first year. Guy was told he was a failure his whole life and never stopped putting corks in those peoples mouths. I wouldn't ever underestimate the Sterns power, because imo you'll be wrong every time.
