Zero tolerance for guns at school: bravo, I applaude that, that's how it should be.
But fer God's sake use some common sense too, will ya.
Almost suspended for a 2" plastic toy. Worst case scenario the kid could've poked out another kid's eye. But you can do more damage with a pen or a pencil

Wonder how things would have gone down if it was one of the old bullhorn looking guns?

Zero tolerance is one of the worst policy decisions a school district can make about anything and only leads to stupid lunkheaded decisions like suspending a kid for bringing a Lego to school or strip searching a girl because someone accused her of having an ibuprofen pill. It just runs completely counter to rational thought and authoritarian types just love that because the less rational thought there is, the better off they are.

That little LEGO guy in the photo looks like a cop to me. Surely it is ok for a 2" policeman to wield a 2" gun at a school?

Yeah. Problem with something like "zero tolerance" is that nobody really knows what that MEANS.... so folks flinch. They freak over ANYTHING that could REMOTELY be considered a transgression. CYOA.
