journey by djs series from 1994,it was the one done by John Digweed, one of the most amazing mixes done to date, still stick it on now, simply timeless. Actually got it signed by him, when he came to Poland to play, I had vip tickets.

like dvd I was a dinosaur entering the CD age (1988) and that was only becuase the Robotech perfect soundrack came out but it wasn't available on LP or cassette (the previous Robtotech BGM vol 1 LP didn't have most of the song tracks). I then had to by a stereo with a cd player just so I could put it on tape for the knock off walkman i had

My first CD player was kind of weird ... I got it at K-Mart and it was about the size and shape of a police scanner and had no speakers - you had to listen to it with headphone or buy external speakers which came seperately... I got it around 1987 and it cost like $60.00 (which was very cheap at that time)...

One thing I didn't like about it, songs that were connected but split into 2 tracks (like Sgt Pepper and With a Little Help From My Friends) would make a loud BLIP sound when crossing over to the next track ... Was terrible for playing Dark Side of the Moon ... If i'm remembering correctly a lot of CD players had this problem during the early days.

              Hmmmm....

I got my first CD's at a secondhand store and bought a few: Triumph: Classics, Blue Oyster Cult: Spectres, and Judas Priest: Brittish Steel and Painkiller.

And I still have my first player. It's sitting next to me right now. (Although the player and tape deck don't work, the radio still does.)

                EXCELLENT CHOICE. Monkees Rule..!

The Arista releases were CRAP for sound quality, much improved in the Rhino Releases a decade later, plus lots of super-cool alternate tracks and liner notes.

I bought That was Then, This is Now when it first came out but I bought mine on cassette

Must have been very popular because I remember it being sold out in 2 other places before I finally found it.

There wasn't much of a selection in local stores when I first got a CD player (around 1987?). I had to go to Toronto or Buffalo to find most of the stuff I wanted.
