Okay, okay...I wasn't sure where you were coming from
with "Glad Jerry Lawler kicked his ***" but I was "half sure"
    it was a "wink-wink"

As far as Kaufman being "corny" compared to the REST
of the "wrestling guises" of the other wrestlers,
I guess ya have ta draw the line SOMEwhere

Kaufman was hot and cold with me.

Brilliant at times...but I think his wrestling bit with women...especially when he wrestled a pregnant woman once...was borderline tasteless...not to mention dangerous.

That was so funny! I loved his stuff. With the audience throwing change to him. Like that was even remotely real. He was such a good actor. He sure knew how to manipulate a crowd. He was awesome on Taxi. It's too bad he died so young.

Wrestling a pregnant woman is dangerous...planned or not planned.

                  Agreed.

Also, I see a lot of posts of if you don't like him you just don't get it. I disagree with that. I "get" what he was doing and the style of combative baiting humor he was aiming for. I just personally don't find it funny. I have nothing against him and I neither like nor dislike him as a performer or person. Again, just not my type of humor.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I think unfortunately by todays standards he really wouldn't stand out that much.
I could take him or leave him.I Don't really think he was a genius he could work a crowd big deal any wrestler out there on any given night can do that.
He just did it on stage in stand up.

He intrigued me, not so much in that I found all of his humor that funny, but more so in just how much of a character he was, and how far he pushed the envelope. I like performers that take chances and are not afraid to be weird. I like when the average person can't understand something.

                        Hmmmm....

He's one of the first examples of what I felt to be "more luck than skill." He had some funny bits, but I thought he relied too much on the same old schtick.

I loved him in Taxi. My friends and I thought this guy was a riot when when I was in Jr. Hi. We'd drive other people crazy w/ The Animal Song as seen in this clip:

Agreed on this. I liked him, but didn't always find him funny. However, I find him endlessly fascinating.

AGREED totally.. Liked him as Vic Ferrari when he lapsed in to his 'alter-ego' in Taxi..
