Thanks guys, i REALLY appreciate all the well wishes. It means alot.

Also appreciate the advice on the collection too. At one point I thought I would at least keep the Trek stuff, but the fees for preparing the paperwork and the court fees are more than I have in my account. And if I don't start putting some money togther now, I'm going to be sleeping on the floor when she takes all the furniture. I love my Trek, but there's prioritys. If any of these figures were the actual figures that I had as a kid there's no way I'd be getting rid of them, but my childhood Megos are long gone.

I'm going to be keeping about 100 comics, stuff that I actually had as a kid (and isn't worth jack anyway)

As for the cards, I feel they would just be kind of a painful reminder of what I've had to get rid of. I'll include my dups with the stuff I sell to help promote the museum. Later I'll offer my almost complete set to anyone who wants to pay the shipping.

Hopefully, when I get back on my feet, I can pick up a couple of loose figures so Mego at least has some representation in my collection. But that's a ways off.

Thanks again for all the support!

Hang in there Bro. I too went through a Divorce about a year ago. It was no fun. I was married 10 years. I remember thinking "when this is over I am going to be jumping up and down with joy". But by the time my divorce was actually final, all I felt was kinda an empty feeling. No jumping up and down for joy....no nothing. I now have a GF and have no thoughts of ever getting married again. I am also getting ready to file for custody of my 16 year old daughter (who wants nothing more that to live with me). This custody battle is not going to be cheap and I too have been debating about selling off my Megos and getting out of the game but I haven't made a final decision on that yet. If I do I will probably keep one or two or possibly even three of the figures that are closest to my heart and I suggest you do the same. Not to just have them but as a reminder that you may be down but by no means out. Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain.I can relate a little as I was divorced over 10 years ago now.It was bad,no kids but the bills caused me to go bankrupt.
I still hung on to my comics and a few loose figs. Now 10 years later I'm married and we have 3 wonderful kids.I'm glad I kept my comics as I read them to my kids now and they get great joy from them.My early trek megos (loose) my son plays with them daily.
I did stop collecting for about 6 years but then the fun came trying to piece things together again.Hunting for things now with the kids is awesome.

Stay strong and just remember things always get worse before they get better!!!

Hope it works out for you both. While I won't chime in with what to keep/not to keep, I will say this. Never think "if I get rid of these, that's it's forever." Long story short after selling many packaged pieces years ago, I thought "I'll never have this good of a collection again."
It didn't happen overnight, I'll just say my Mego & Vintage Star Wars collection are bigger/better now than they've ever been. It seems hard to think of now, but one day this whole mess will be behind you and you might find yourself not only feeling differently about collecting, but most likely in a better situation overall. Whatever happens I wish you guys the best.
