I personally think nobody today including Leno has the dignified presents that Carson did and made the Tonight Show what it was.
For me, the entire run of Jay Leno I never accepted him more than being a guest host.
I blame the networks themselves ... They feed us a few throw-away comedians and we're suppose to pick out the best one... We got crap in the right hand and crap in the left.
Then they go picking through SNL for more ? ... like SNL is a haven for talent
I think the whole late night franchise died with the quitting of Carson and the leaving of Letterman.Comment

Here's a in depth look at the whole thing and where we stand now Leno Screws Conan, Again
Although in a nutshell, it's Leno's show that's failed, he's the one that should be gone. He agreed to leave years ago. The whole drama has nothing to do with Conan's ratings (He still regularly beats Letterman in the key demos) it's because Leno's show is drawing such low ratings that the affiliates are revolting because of how low LENO'S ratings have sunk, not Conan's.Comment

One report by TMZ.com states that Conan has been given an ultimatum by NBC executives: Move to the midnight to 1 a.m. time slot, or leave the network. The site reports that Conan has not decided what he wants to do, but that he and his people are considering the offerLeno should have bowed out and retired gracefully...but then again, karma's a ***** and Carson was forced out too.

I think the real losers in all of this is the late night audience.
Big question then...who is out there that you think should or at least could be the next "good" Tonight Show host?Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"Comment

^ The way NBC is mucking around with all of this, they've pretty much killed The Tonight Show as the "franchise" it once was. Now it just seems like a game of musical chairs. Desperation from a 4th place network.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I can't watch any of this Crap ..., never could. I'd rather Watch Carson in Re-Runs , than any of these Guys...
The Only Late Night show worth a Damn is Chelsea Blake... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I dont like any of 'em. Including that guy who used to be on the Man Show, and the George Strombopoulous (however you spell it?) show (Canadian talk show).
If I'm up that late watching tv, I'm usually flipping around trying to find classic sci fi/westerns or porn!!Last edited by Captain; Jan 9, '10, 1:50 AM."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment
